Broke My middle finger last night

Yeah your fretting hand seems to be the worst place for an injury. At least it was for me. Years ago I severed my left middle finger and after they re attached it I couldn't use it/play with it for forever. Seems like the muscle memory was the worst part. The finger "wanted" to do its part, even after the doc said I could take off the splint I still used it when playing just to keep myself from flexing it. Ten years later my favorite flipper is back 100% but I do have some weird fingerings as a result of that time period. Rest your hand brother, permanent damage is worse than down time.

Broke my right index finger on a dirt bike years ago....sold the dirt bike quick, played with my middle finger and a little with my ring finger for weeks. The 1st joint never really got back to normal, it has almost no flex now. I can play with it now but I wish I had known about the Arnica tincture back then. Take the time to heal...don't push it.

Well, I skipped out on practice last night. The swelling has come down a bit. I did also have a hairline fracture of my right wrist. Played in a soft cast for 9 weeks. Had to use a pick the whole time (Something I rarely ever do these days). I think my finger is worse than my wrist. It is one of those things you just don't realize how much you use it until you can't.

If you use it, you could stand to lose it. Your hands and fingers are more that just for playing. Take the full time and let it recover.
No such thing as can't...it's just that people won't.

Yeah years ago broke my fretting hand in half with the slam of a car hood compound fracture of my pinking and shatter the knuckle. Could not play at all so I feel for you.
Let it heal completely before using it you could do more unseen damage to it if you don't not worth it.

All males know what it's like watching a dood get kicked in the balls ... you can't help but cringe and say "OOOOOO" and then you cover your own as if it happened to you (even if it's on TV) ...

when i saw the pic above... i said "ah crap" and proceeded to rub my left hand and make sure it wasn't hurt.
