Is anyone drinking something special for the Super Bowl? For those who are watching...

Since there are no breakfast pics, here are my essentials before firing them up:

I'm more into single-malt Scotch, but I was pleasantly surprised by Screech. I got totally blottoed on it and was still functional enough to walk home and next day wasn't a problem — no headache nor queasiness, no memory loss, just needed the usual rehydration. I typically don't like getting smashed, but it was a very special occasion and I didn't need to drive and one drink led to another...

It was a very pleasant experience.

By the by, screech used to be (and probably still is) made like moonshine — ie "at home". However, somebody got the idea to brand it. Imagine walking into a liquor store in the Deep South and asking for a bottle of "Moonshine" with a capital "M". Actually, I'm surprised somebody hasn't, or has someone? "Moonshine" with a capital M?

There are a few marketed "moonshines". Even worse are the recipes online that are just akin to adding pie filling to vodka.

Anything you could recommend? I've always wanted to try a real-deal white-lightning moonshine. Always been fascinated with rum-running boats and moonshine runnin' cars, the tricks the moonshiners used to evade the outstretched noose of the revenuers... like having a little switch to turn off your brakelights — jam and turn, pursuers overshoot...

I got to try real-deal hooch in Thailand. I was working briefly in the north, in Kanchanaburi, and the locals put chunks of honeycomb in their 'shine to help it taste better. After drinking it all evening, I wanted to try it without the honeycomb, took a while but I finally convinced them I was serious and got to try it straight up — I liked it. Maybe too much. Neat or with honeycomb.

Wrote a song about it, "Goin' Blind On Thai Moonshine".

Sorry, no. I haven't tried any that are legit. I was gifted a jar of commercial "moonshine" that was just young, bland corn whiskey.
Closest I've tried to real hooch was a South African witblits a friend brought back from a trip. Felt like you could launch a rocket with that stuff!

And what's with the lack of Super Bowl predictions? KC is taking this thing in what will be an epic showdown of two of the greatest quarterbacks ever.

If TB can convert 3 KC "touchdowns" (in other words, 3 KC possessions that make it in to TB territory ~35 yard line or better) in to FG's...they have a chance.

Brady will find a way to put points on the board and.....he needs those points to be long, time consuming, drives to keep Mahomes and the KC O off the field. Give his defense a breather.

If Brady can do that and their defense can bend a few times without breaking, they can win. But....yeah...odds are definitely in KC's favor. Mainly because Mahomes and that man-moose Kelce.

My prediction: KC 37 - TB 27

Agreed. Keeping Mahomes off the field is of paramount importance. Also, Brady has been giving up more interceptions than usual. Likely due to the fact that he is not totally acclimatized to his receiving corps yet. They can't win if KC picks the ball off. I think for TB to win, Gronk has to show up in a big way.

KC all the way. Last year was tough for me being a Niners fan but there’s no way in hell I’ll cheer for Tom Brady. He is the GOAT though...

He is... and as much as I want to despise Brady it wouldn't bother me to see him win a 7th Super Bowl now that he has left NE.

I am of the same belief. Do you think all the anti-Jordan fans are disappointed that they got to witness the greatest ever despite being on the losing-rooting side?

I can't stand LeBron James (for several reasons but primarily because I'm a Mavericks fan) but I know what I'm seeing when he is on the court and I am happy that I get to witness him in real time rather than read about him (historically) and watch clips.

I'm also trying to soak up as much Luka Doncic as possible. Dude is a stud.

I know what you mean about LBJ- as a Spurs fan, I still can’t watch the 2013 Finals, but there’s no denying that he’s possibly the GOAT. I enjoy watching him a lot more now that the Spurs won’t be contending against him for a title.

Luka is a lot of fun to watch, but he has to quit whining to the refs after every possession where he doesn't score. He does get hacked quite a bit, but giving up on defense as much as he does is not a good look.

A bunch of friends and I did Gatlinburg,TN for a day, which includes about 6 different moonshine distillery tastings. By far, Sugarland was everyone's #1 favorite for everything, including White Lightning.
