Sick ass board is sick ass!!!

As for all the chatter on the Messenger v3. I can't speak for everyone, but I've fallen pretty hard in love with mine. I was using it on a guitar board for headphone jamming and recently started using it with my Beebo when I'm exploring it. The super low current draw with the tiny form factor and feature rich is just too much. I'm using mine with the mute switch and also really loving the Aux in...if I could make a wish it would be for a switch to send the AUX pre-EQ/filters, but the device is really amazing. I can't believe Josh jammed all that functionality into such a small package. If it had a rechargeable battery, it would be the Phil Jones Big Head killer for best headphone pre-amp.

Edit: also solid trade on both sides with the calamity for solarian.

Have to agree on the Messenger v3....I have a Phil Jones Big Head HA-2 and a SLO MKIIIs, but for regular headphone practice/noodling I've been using the Messenger almost exclusively. It's wonderfully clear, and the tone shaping functionality is fantastic. I have the switch set to EQ bypass mode....great when you want to get a pristine signal from upstream while you're playing around with ordering pedals on the board, and want to be able to discern subtle tonal differences without annoying others late at night.

Also liking the Messenger V3. Haven't gotten to use it outside of the house too much but it has performed how I expected it to. I had the V1 for a while and enjoyed it, but the V3 fits my needs better and made practicing easier.

The V1 had Gain and separate Line and DI level knobs, all of which are replaced with just a volume knob. Been to a couple band practices where we use in ears and amps and setup has been fine.

After this pic I redid my order, the Octabvre seemed to be accentuating what the compressor was doing and I wanted to try the Fifth Gear without anything in front of it so it is currently:
Tuner (true bypass)>Fifth Gear>Octabvre>Cali76 >MBD2>SV-pre>Messenger

I will say however that I am quite happy with my v1 Messenger, it pays for it in size but has more tonal control than the v3.
There's a lot to be said about the boost on the V1, placed in front of the right gear it can bring out some awesome character, I had rack gear that never sounded as good when I had it running in front. I do wish the V2 had a boost, but I'm sure that's one of the features that took up so many resources, and merited change - that being said I LOVE the headphone out, it's changed my entire setup, for the good

Good to hear.

While I plan to keep my v1, if anyone is thinking to get rid of their v3 please keep me in mind.

I can't offer anything else publicly because I may have been ratted out for that.

reminds me a lot of my recent parts build for some reason. I think it's the big pole pieces :) These are Sentell bass soapbars. I like them a lot but have the hotter pickup in the neck position right now and I don't like that setup as much as I thought I would. I'm thinking of rewiring this to be V/V/Neck Tone/Bill Lawrence Q Filter for the bridge pickup
