Broughton Audio Super Thread

Dang the Solarian could be a mini pedal size by the looks of that gut shot. Now there's a cool ideal mini-Solarian re-issue

That would be cool, but I’d like to see a Solarian with a tone control (or two, or three...). It’s great in all the Bright switch settings, but I can’t help but wonder what it would sound like with a fuller tone stack.

I send mine into a SS. It’s good.

I'd trade any potential extra features for a Sunray mini.

I found the artwork:

Oh yeah, Solarian into SV-Pre is one of my favorite sounds, and it stacks well with other EQs as well. I just feel like I want the Solarian’s tone to be somewhere between the middle and right positions on the Bright switch; middle is slightly too dark for my taste, and right is slightly too bright.

So Solarian v2 should have a tilt eq a la Monocomp, is my takeaway. Not a bad thought.

Well, early this morning (3:50am) was not the first time I was unexpectedly awakened, by something, at just the right time for a successful Broughton score. This was the first release in a while where my level of interest was very high, (I wasn’t able to swing the previous Fliptop release) so I said a small prayer before bed. Thank you Universe.

Just be sure it doesn’t end up in a box, garbage can or gutter.

I’m so excited!!

Just got a call from the shop I’d dropped my old ‘77 Rickenbacker 4001 off at, for some pickup wiring to the new harness, and final setup, letting me know it’s all finished up, and I can pick it up tomorrow!

It’s my birth year Bass, that I’ve had for decades now. She’d been through a lot over the years, much of it at my hands I’m sorry to say, and hasn’t produced sound for years.

Spray painted rattle can chrome/silver sometime in the 90’s, after already being somewhat battle scarred when I got it...

Also a fair bit of corrosion more recently, and aging electronics.

Finally made a point of undoing as much of the damage as I could, and fixing it up, and honestly may tear up playing it again for the first time tomorrow.

We’ve both been through some $h!t over the years, especially lately, and both have our scars, but we’ve both survived, and can still make some noise!

Congrats! I had a birth year fender jazz for a while but eventually let it go due to weight. Very exciting stuff though!

This is funny you say this, at one point I had "checked" quantities when things were in stock, so per IP I had multiple P15s, SSDIs and JoshWahs in my cart. When I was actually running the F5 game and getting myself a Studio Boost, I about checked out with over a 4k tab with Josh... be careful with those carts lol. This honestly could be a pro gamer life hack tip&trick, if you catch a good a pedal, and for some brilliant reason they are still in stock after your purchase, throw another in your cart and leave it there, they stay even when out of stock so that portion of the purchase is already done, of course this is insanely hard and requires a team of specialized humans with a Google Fiber connection..

This can also backfire. I missed a drop because I didn't know I had left a sold out item in my cart from a previous crushed dream and when I went to check out it blocked me adding another minute or so during that critical in stock time.

Thanks!

I had no idea what year it was until a couple years ago.

I’d thought it was a mid to late 80’s when I got it. Then checked the serial number while trying to look for parts, and couldn’t believe it when I saw birth year staring back at me!

Very cool. Hope you have a very happy Saturday.
Birth year basses for me are so astronomically priced that I’ve given up ever owning one and have to take solace in owning one that was made when DSOTM was released.
