Broughton Audio Super Thread

You guys pulled me back in....

I got a deal on a Flip Top and finally gave it a whirl last night. It sounds great. Really great. It also makes me think if I keep it I'll have to kick the grizzly overdrive off my board since I was using that for b15-ish sounds.

The FT isn't a great overdrive, which is where the grizzly shines, but that's not why one buys the FT.

Now I have to wait for the Slampegg to come next month for me to make my final decision (I'm not getting a p15 under any circumstances).

What are your favorite settings for the Flip Top?
So far for me, dime the volume, bass at 2 and treble at 11:30, cab off. Yours?

Fliptop is very nice. Silver Deluxe through the Fliptop cab sim? Spectacular. Those two pedals stack very, very well. :)

Oooh...I'll have to try that stacking...but first...

...they call it a hungryman hero, I call it a heart attack hero...either way you walk away disgustingly full

Have you tried one? It may tick all your boxes.
No, and I'm not going to.

It's for the same reason I don't play $10k basses at the shop, not test drive a tesla. I know me and don't want to make myself afford nice things.

The p15 is also hardly pedalboard friendly, so it's not a consideration. I'm sure it's lovely.

You've seen pics of mine right? Totally works on a pedalboard.

That said, with all the money you wind up spending on other stuff, getting that one nice thing you know works winds up being cheaper in the long run :)

Also, as I've posted elsewhere, the FT is a distant fourth for me after the P-15 and the two Slampegg variants. I wanted to like the FT. I just didn't.

Last week, the guys I was playing with loved the P-15 over the Slampegg which to me is very good in a live context. I liked what the X brought to the table for one tune specifically since it's the 12AX7 so it's slightly different tonally. The P-15 really is all that and a bag chips, though. Worth every damn penny.
