Broughton Audio Super Thread

Noobie question.
Is it cool to use the 2-way split-cable on the CIOKS7 and put the Josh Wah and SV-PRE together? I see both are 9V only pedals.

Shouldn't be an issue, the Cioks will deliver plenty of current. You could probably add 5-6 more 'normal' pedals to the chain if you want to!

Yes, I know how the synth voice works... I was just reading that people felt the SVD was not as smooth playing, that it was boomy, etc. I was asking for personal experience on whether it really is an issue, or just people not knowing how to handle the different circuit...

SVD is far superior to the SV in my experience. The advantage of the SV is the size. The SVD gives a lot more versatility in tone but some folks like very basic devices which makes it easier to dial in the sound they are looking for. You can dial in the SV w the SVD and then some. If it's too boomy then dial it differently.

The next few weeks are gonna be a blood bath of crushed dreams. There are a lot more people vocally trying for these which makese think there are also.plenty of lurkers going for these.

It's like the good ol days where we had a drop every Friday. Way to crank em out!

I was just stating my experience with each adjustment, that the SV does not. I'll be short with it, SVD isn't boomy, it's an excellent pedal with several uses. There's a reason its still sold and the SV isn't.

I haven't seen a Cioks that doesn't pump out at least 100mA. I also haven't seen a two way split for a Cioks, its simply a RCA> 2) 2.1 barrels? Either way it's plenty of power, both pedals probably don't even draw 60mA together. I have 3 3 way daisy chains on mine, one of those is a 100mA/9volt and it runs just as if it was isolate supplies. Cioks is really quiet too, it really surprised me compared to others

Yes, one of the included cables is an RCA into 2 barrels and there is also an RCA into 3 barrels.
I used the 2 barrel one so I could have all 8 Broughtons hooked up. I only had time for a short rip but it was amazing.
I hope to get more time with the set up during the week if I can.

The DC7 does come with split cables, and each output will do 660ma at 9v.

LOL

That was supposed to say:

“You got a problem with Synth Voice Deluxe, you got a problem with me!

Better take a moment to let that marinate!”
Exactly, the SVD is joy, a true star, a wonder, always giving, never petulant. It was born to anchor a chain of grunty modulating time expanding surreality. It's a Synth Voice, but it's also Deluxe. I distrust anyone who lacks the patience to appreciate it.

The Signal Cypher can cop some SVD tones too. That's one that doesn't get a ton of chatter, but is truly a remarkable feat...an analog synth pedal that gets you there and is particularly devastating when used with an expression pedal. If only the Dream Crusher had a an expression. Truth be told, that's why I'm starting to teach myself the DIY. I'm gonna start modding my Broughton's to taste. Gonna void that warranty magpie style.
