Broughton Audio Super Thread

How do you like playing it with the pickup cover on there? I have a set of bridge and pickup covers for my fender P, but I’ve never committed to actually mounting them. I love the look but I feel like they would get in the way of how I like to play
I play close to the fretboard and above the pickup usually. I like to put the pickup covers on every now and then, but I usually leave the bridge cover on because I stay away from it already

My P of choice has bridge but no pickup covers. Use a 1.00 pick usually over the back pickup or -ish-.

I randomly like to record DI in direct to hear back the tones I think sound good.

Glad I did tonight. Didn’t realize my action was so low it was that noisy (knew my DAW/Interface is though lol). Going to have to do some work!

Thought I would share here since there’s a few bro-tones, and will post same in the BASSRIG thread since it’s a new pedal and people are waiting to hear it.

P-bass, w/ pick -> tuner -> Omnicomp -> LHPF -> Solarian -> BassrigSV direct out

Starts with the Solarian boost on, then click off for the “clean tone.”

Same. That’s my go-to right hand position on a P bass. Maybe I’ll mount the covers and get out of my comfort zone a bit.
Mine didn't come with one but as this is my Flatwound bass I decided to get the look. I too play right over the the pickup, this really threw my playing into chaos. I put that thumb rest which helps. The cover does force the hand into more of a Jamerson position.

How do you like your SLO?
I really like it, though I can't compare it to anything as it's the only tube DI/Preamp I've used, but it sounds great! I run it clean then run the SV-Pre when I want a little extra break up. I put a 12ay7 in there is how I'm able to run the gain so high, before that I had it around 10 o clock for clean with the stock 12ax7. I noticed after the pic that my settings got all messed up in transport so those aren't exactly where I have it, but close.

Announcement: I have a Studio Boost that I sadly don't use enough to justify keeping and an OG Smoothie which was officially made redundant by the Omnicomp. If anyone has an Azure Drive and/or a quality bit crusher (e.g. Bitmap v2) they are willing to trade, feel free to DM me!

I want this SB! Now all I have to do is find an AZ....

@Lowendtech wanna do some trading?

With the new tube would you say you get more headroom and warmth than before?
I'm always looking for warmth over grit so these tube swaps always interest me.
