Broughton Audio Super Thread

I know this group might be a bit biased, but do you guys consider the Maestro to be "the best" brassmaster clone? I have a BEAD already that I'm quite happy with, but if the Maestro is noticeably better or different...

This is taken from a conversation that I was having with @Charlie Tuna and @HoochfromP regarding the same question. I have the maestro and love it. Never tried a BEAD but seems like the consensus is that it’s a xcellent:

A/Bing the Maestro and BEAD. Maestro is less flexible but it's quite a unique sounding pedal, really idk how to describe the tonal difference but 'more authentic and throaty/vocal' sounding is what i'd say. A bit more bouncing qualities than the BEAD as well, which is a hell of a great fuzz. There are so many nice tones in there ! It's able to come very close to my Doom 2, and doing a lot different things. It's almost a too flexible pedal, there are too many great flavours in there

Anyone else has had that thing happen where you buy one ebs gold patch cable from Thomann, and you end up adding a Spaceman Apollo to the cart so you don't have to pay for shipping.
Kind of. Just yesterday.
I had a Bridge and a Hipshot D tuner on an order and was $10 short of free shipping so I threw an expensive set of bass nut files on the order to qualify for the free shipping.

You know, I should try that with my wife… Nothing upsets her more than having to pay for shipping lol. Honestly babe, I had to get that pedal so that I could get free shipping! Might work…

It is perfectly normal then. Probably. Hopefully.

Even better...

Maximize the savings on the Free Shipping, by ordering something expensive to ship.

Like a Bass or Cab!

"I saved $200 in shipping Honey! That's just smart shopping!" LOL

A friend said he bought y Jazz bass, took it to parts, put the parts in a plastic bag, and brought that bag to home. "I got some bass parts from a friend, trying to make something from them"

Im such a big dummy...

Here I am for the past 90 minutes constantly refreshing my browser, and than I look at the calendar and its the 22nd, not the 29th.

I spent an entire day refreshing the site once when I had a feeling in my bones that there was going to be a Super Stack drop that day. I must've done over 1000 refreshes...it actually became so constant that it was hard to stop. There was no Super Stack drop that day, but I did score one in the drop when it eventually happened. That one is really something to talk about...we are all distracted by the latest shiny new one, but the Super Stack and the Studio One...yo...those are the pedals.

The other day I made an insane order on a bunch of pedals I had been hunting that I discovered a stash of NOS on. I added an extra pedal to the order that I didn't want to get, so that I could get that last one with free shipping (and the sale price) instead of waiting and paying shipping and MSRP.

I had a Super Stack, then - like an idiot - sold it. I managed to get another not long after. It has been used on every gig ever since... almost 300 in a row and still counting. Only other pedal that I have used nearly that much is the Apex, but I've not had the Apex as long, and it is always on. So yeah, Super Stack...
