Broughton Audio Super Thread

Sorry for the email notification failing again (although I really doubt it would have been helpful for this drop). I sent an angry email to my website provider. I have one foot out the door with these guys. I may just get rid of the button all together, then nobody would ever complain again, right?

And again, I would never sell less than 25 for a release, and even that is very small for me. This thread is a small subset of my customer base, you don't get the full picture of who is buying stuff from here.

This and comparing to the Cali-76 TX is what I’m aiming to find out.
I've never played a TX, but a TX-L was my main compressor for years. That's probably the better piece of comparandum anyway since it and the DLA-2A employ Lundahl transformers. 1176 compression is quite different from LA-2A compression, though, so I'm curious what you find. They might just be different favors of excellence.

Now that the pedalboard and power supply are in hand time to build the new board.
But was wondering what voltage folks are running certain pedals at. Sure I'm going to try different settings but its also good to get others insight. 9V or 18V for the Omnicomp, Scorpion, Calamity, Messenger Jr. Currently I'm running the Scorp & Clam at 9V. I've only used/tested Omni & Mess Jr. @9V.

@Azure Skies

AVB accepts 9v - 12v. Is there any difference in performance such as more headroom between them?

A subtle difference; 12v will be slightly louder, perhaps slightly less hair.

Omni - no difference in performance, it is regulated
Scorpion - probably doesn't matter, clipping diodes dictate the headroom
Calamity - matters a bit, especially in no diodes mode. It will be louder, less compressed, and less distorted
Messenger Jr - more clean headroom, but if you don't get clipping at 9V, you won't hear a difference
