Well, at last nights gig, the crowd was "BRUT-ALIZED"
The hot-rodded brute tore them all a new one!
This is a short video clip from the gig. Last song of the night and not only did the video run out of room but the crowd had thinned considerably by almost 2am.
Playing the custom brute through a Glasstone Lil'G with Tecamp PUMA 900 head.

Signing Endorsement Contract with Tecamp this week. Still need to read through it but I think I'm going to do it. Brubaker Basses sound great through Tecamp Gear.

Phily has me curious about the Brute. However, the Bru website is kinda meh.

Brute squad members... Anyone had a warping issue with the wood pickguard over time? It hasn't happened to me yet, but the gig i played this weekend was pretty intense and the room was hot. Sweat was a big factor. I was just concerned that over time the wood may react to instances like that.

The standard MJX-5's have a Nato wood body, 34" scale, maple neck and board, 1.75" width at the nut, 19mm spacing at the bridge, Brubaker propietary electronics, the new ones come standard with the 3 way coil tap on the MM pup, 2-band active eq, probably average about 9.5 lbs, flat compound radius fretboard - 16" to 20", and asymmetrical neck contour - slightly thinner behind the A-D-G strings then the B and E. Very VERY comfortable . . . the best feeling and playing necks out there, IMO/E. This IS the feature that won me over to Brubaker for life. And, oh yeah, they sound great too.
The single cuts are an ash body, the neck features/specs are virtually identical to the standard except the it has a 1.7" width at the nut, is painted as flat/satin black on the back - very smooth/fast feeling, and comes standard with a rosewood fretboard. Don't know about the weight on these, but I've heard they are trying to keep them around the 10 lbs mark. All the rest of the specs should be the same.
Anyone else jump in if I forgot something or got anything incorrect.

I noticed that when I sanded mine down before painting it that their is a light flat/satin coating, polyurethane probably, as some protection from sweat and the elements. You could pull it and add a couple more coats if you ever notice any wear-through or staining.
Cool. That is very good to know. My pickguard is a little off anyway, an earlier owner did the mods, and he had to adjust a few things to make stuff fit.. It's no big deal though.
I would like a new one that was a good fit. Anyone know if the Brubaker guys can make that happen?
