Why should I even care about the exact number of Watts?
It doesn't tell you anything about the sound, low freq headroom, dynamics, detail resolution etc.
RMS may be kind of interesting if you are reproducing full spectrum music, compressed to a factor to be FM airplay compatible.
An average bass guitar signal doesn't even get close to that.
It may get closer by a certain amount when you use lots of compression and distortion, but still the dynamic range will be way above what a processed band recording consists of.
Transient peaks and short time max power is of much more interest to most of the bass players.
Giving the RMS rating of the amp might give you a hint in comparison to an other amp, but it still wouldn't tell you if that amp is more or less capable to reproduce your bass signal.
What if your amplifier A puts out more RMS while amplifier B has less RMS but can get higher peak?
Which one is louder then with your bass?
And which one sounds better?
And then, what if that lower powered amp is more than loud enough in any situation you will ever run into (given that you are using a cab with a decent efficiency that is able to handle that load).
Would you buy an amp with 500W over an amp with 300W even if that one sounds better?
Just because that you might get about +2dB from that more power - if those Watts have been measured by the same, standardized method after all?
My Veyron can easily get louder at the same cab than my 300W all tube BVV3000 and still stay clean.
So that for me is way more than enough.
If for you it isn't, get a better cab.
Pushing even more power into it will most probably kill it instead of reaching acceptable sound pressure levels.
