On yesterday's outdoor shows, I played through an EDEN 210XST (8 ohm) and an AGUILAR GS 115 (8 ohm). I know that there is a sharp division between opinions on mixing of cabs. I DO have another EDEN 210XST (8 ohm) that I sometimes use to give me 4-10's. However, this combination (maybe the particular brand of cabs?) work really well together. As I stated in the previous posting.....as a reference, I played the first 1 hour show with my EDEN WT800 in bridged mode (1100 watts into 4 ohms) I have the tone controls flat or within 1 or 2 clicks to the right of center and the enhance at about 10:00. The 2nd and 3rd shows I played yesterday, I used the BURGERA VEYRON M. To come very close to the EDEN sound, I had the 15db pad pushed, my gain at about 1 o'clock. (I was playing an Fender AM Deluxe J Bass -5 string and the new Sire Marcus Miller v7 basses)... The ultra low switch depressed, bass at about 2'oclock, mid at about 11 o'clock position and the treble at about 12 o'clock position. I did NOT have the ultra high button depressed and finally.....The Master at about 10 o'clock position. It was equal or greater volume without compression, to my EDEN WT800 volume at similar position on gain and master. I COULD HAVE turned the master higher and gotten louder, but I was already as loud as I play for outdoor shows (pretty loud)...Now keep in mind, the show I was playing is a BEACH BOY TRIBUTE band and not heavy metal, etc... I work with several bands in the Phoenix area, but this one gets the most bookings. I have a church gig this morning and it is low to moderate volume playing levels. I keep a bass rig at the church (EDEN 410 cab and EDEN WT400) the cabinet is an 8 ohm, so ANY amplifier will only give about 50% of it's potential output due to a higher impedance load. It will be interesting to hear how it sounds in this different setting today. So far, I have given my thumbs up to another bass player in the Phoenix area that was about to buy a CARVIN BX1500 that will cost a slight bit more, and he has now decided to get the BUGERA. I guess he respects my opinion
BTW, I ALSO have a CARVIN BX1500 and it really is a great amp too. (Along with my other 4 EDEN amps.....I must see a psychiatrist about this problem!)
