Can anyone identify this Bass?

I've seen those pictures before, possibly on this site. The description referenced a custom build from CA. If I find the original reference I'll post again.

Yes. I still wish some expert could ID the maker of this excellent Bass.

Well the tuners are Sperzels. You didn't see those on cheap instruments. Birds eye maple neck on the outsides, quilted maple top. From the 2 small pictures it looks very nice. No idea who made it.

The Sperzels and the body cutaway like on a Patitucci Yamaha suggest 1990s to me.

Those Sperzels are the same tuners Carvin was using in the early- mid 90s, and I agree, they are a sign of someone using quality parts throughout.

So it seems to be. I think it has some things in common with Dale Bluebond's work, but the crafty double-profile logo I don't recognize from anywhere. Yet this can hardly be the only bass such an obviously skilled luthier ever built.

I agree to both. It does share some of the high quality aspect's of Bluebond's Basses...although I see a difference in the Back where the neck meets the body. (At least in the very few pictures I looked at.)
I'd love to find out what other basses my builder built..this is a very nice Bass!

Just the logo itself would seem to indicate a very high skill level - simple but beautiful design, more intricate than it looks at first. Someone was proud of their work and put their mark on it.

You're so very right! I wish I could hand this around to everyone, because I knew it was special the second I picked it up. Just everything is so...right. Every detail is just plain well done--special!

The fact that no one here can ID this is very surprising and I'm frankly stunned. So this is really a bump back to the top to get some more views. I feel sure that somebody here would know but just hasn't stumbled on this thread yet.

I think the bridge is an older Gotoh bridge. Somehow I think the pickups could be Kent Armstrongs.

So, elkkid2 you need to contact Kent Armstrong, and if these are his pickups I'll bet he can ID the maker. The screw adjustment of 2/1 is somewhat unusual as there aren't many makers that do that.

I sent an Email off to Kent Armstrong. We'll see...if they respond.

I have seen this logo before, I have a vague memory of it being a spin off of another company trying to import upscale production models.

I doubt thatit's an import. I was told it was made in the U.S.A. --plus, I've never seen an import so well built.
