Can anyone identify this bass?

I think it's a bass from O'VADKA GUITARS, built by Dan O'vadka.

Yep! That's the only one I found as well, an astronomically priced ended sale on reverb. Insane.

Out of my league for sure. And there's no telling what up with this one. I say good luck to him.:laugh:

Maybe he can help you with more info?

How does he get the guitar to stick to the tree? He's not using the headstock hole according to the close ups. :)

Not sure if you are just joking or not (I wish you could hear sarcasm in the written word). There is a guitar hanger screwed into the tree trunk. You can see the ends of the rubber coated posts about .5” above the nut on either side of the base of the headstock.

EDIT: Now that you’ve got me thinking about it, a bunch of funky old beater basses could make for some really cool looking yard art if I attached them to the trunks of the larger trees in and around the yard and gardens behind My house. Of course, I’ll take any excuse to spend more time looking in pawn shops and flea markets for weird old basses. The question is, how do I sell the concept to my wife?

As long as the owner doesn't look here. ;)
I thought about that too, but concluded it’s probably not an issue. The owner doesn’t know who made the bass. If he was a TB member or frequent visitor, he would have been the one asking for help identifying it, and since he doesn’t know to search O’Vadka, there isn’t anything that would be likely to lead him to this thread. Of course, all of us now know the bass is up for sale, so it would still be smart for the OP to move quickly!

Especially if its on the cheap!

Guys I'm honest to a fault. I told him the brand and recommended he reach out to the creator. If it were me i'd want to know, and he may actually want to keep it knowing it's a custom job. As far as I can tell, it's still up tho, so if anything else wanted to jump on it, i wouldn't be mad!:smug:

FWIW, I really respect that and would have done exactly the same thing. The Karma points are more valuable than any bass.

And I love mysteries too!

That was a classy move, kudos to you!

Hey everybody! Sorry to bring up an old thread. It's probably a good thing you didn't buy it, because I did and tried to turn the truss rod. Snapped right off. 6 years later my luthier (who I told at the time not to stress it too much and take as much time as possible) is finally happy with the stability of the neck (it was really really twisted). It wasn't properly built and it was a huge headache. I'll let you guys know how it came together at the end in about 2 weeks. From what I remember, (I haven't had it in my hands in 6 years) it is really lightweight and SEEMS well finished and made with love. When it gets new frets on it, I'll make that decision. I hope it rocks because it looks KILLER!
