Here in the DC area everyone is in panic and brace for impact mode. My band didn't have a gig this weekend, BUT: we had a gig Wednesday night and had to cancel when the surprise pre-snow storm hit and caught the area unprepared at rush hour. The Beltway became a parking lot, our drummer, who lives farthest, canceled first and then all the dominoes fell. Good thing, too, by the news reports getting into or out of DC that night was crazy. We left messages for the venue and the band we were supposed to gig with but nobody answered back.
It sucks and I feel bad about flaking but when you think about it, risking life and limb for a few dozen bucks on a weekday is not worth it. Keeping my truck out of a fender bender is more important to me than an angry tavern owner who will get over it quick anyway.
