Cannabis

you are a really sick ****ing person!!!!

not even close to funny, **** YOU!!!

Welcome to the internet...

Honestly, anyone capable of being offended by anything posted on a message board in this day and age... should sell their computer.

On subject, I'm all for the legalization of pot and I don't even smoke it anymore.

I would still smoke if I could, but I tend to have panic attacks when I smoke. At least I did 4 years ago, the last time I smoked.

...the wonderful things happening in California...
While there is a ballot measure to legalize it in the upcoming state election here, I'd be slightly surprised if it does actually pass this time...there are still a lot of people here who don't want it legalized, in spite of the fact that it is THE largest cash crop in the state and that legalizing and taxing the sales would go a LONG way to help the state's economic problems, and most likely also go a long way towards putting a dent in certain criminal activities surrounding the production/distribution of it by, for lack of a better term, 'organized' crime.

The area where I live is still trying to decide just how to deal with dispensaries - so far, most are being shut down almost as fast as they open, citing the federal laws as overriding the state's laws. Even if the ballot measure passes this time, I'm afraid that the contradictory legal stance will still be an issue until such time as a national law is established to legalize it. I also believe that this is not 'if', it's 'when.'

If it is legalized, it will up to each county to control distribution, there could be dry counties, just like some states with alcohol. Huge companies like conag/philip morris will get involved, and shut down the local pot club bs overnight. Whose gonna compete with a $10-15 eighth of high grade? The grow fields will look like a huge prison complex, only to keep people out. Can anyone imagine the drive though an area like that? Ahhhh, the stench of nature and beauty. It reeks of capitalism. And local growers will not be able to sell their product, just like microbrewers with beers. You can grow as much as you want, but you can't sell a dime of it.

Soon, ALL Californians (above the age of 18) may get to enjoy cannabis!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California_Proposition_19_(2010)

Proposition 19, also known as the Regulate, Control and Tax Cannabis Act of 2010, is a California ballot proposition which will be on the November 2, 2010 California statewide ballot. It legalizes various marijuana-related activities, allows local governments to regulate these activities, permits local governments to impose and collect marijuana-related fees and taxes, and authorizes various criminal and civil penalties.

If passed, Proposition 19 would signal a real change in existing cannabis/drug policy!

Plus, once California legalizes other states will more than likely follow.

It's worth noting that California Terminator Arnold Schwarzenegger recently signed a measure (SB 1449) making possession of 28.5 grams a simple civil infraction instead of a misdemeanor. No court, nothing on your criminal record. At worst you'll get a 100 dollar fine. Doesn't go into effect till January though.

Hey guys, have you heard about the recent cannabis fatality?

Some cops were busting a dude in his 13th story apartment, so he had to get rid of his cannabis. He threw it out of the window and hit a pedestrian passing by.

True story.

My opinion on the matter is that we've been living in a lie for 80 years and it's time for this to end.

I will not contest that cannabis might be less harmfull than alcohol or nicotine, but there are also studies pointing out (with the necessary caution and reservations) that cannabis is not harmless

neither is auto racing, sky diving, football,or a moonlight stroll in central park, but we enjoy those activities and accept the risks......it boggles the mind that cops, courts, etc still waste time busting people for this.....

Having just gotten out from under the long arm of the law for a misdemeanor marijuana offense I can assure you that my safety and health took a serious back seat to my checkbook. A year, 2500$, 6 months suspended liscense (every drug charge in AL comes with a standard 6 month suspension whether the arrest involved a vehicle or not) and missed time from work. I can safely say that they were interested in my money. There was no personal attention paid to my case or any other misdemeanor marijuana offenders case.

I wont go into the details of my arrest but I will say it did not involve a car, a public place, anyone under the age of consent and I was in no position to affect anyones life other than my own. I work for my living, pay taxes and I have never purposefully hurt anyone in my life. In a year I went from a comfortable financial situation to debt thanks to lost work and expenses. Along the way I was told at every step that this is all for my own good. I guess I am too drugged out to understand.

When I smoke I accept the responsibility of my actions and this is my second arrest in 10 years for the same offense. In the meantime I have gone to college, gigged professionally as a jazz and classical musician, worked for several highly successful woodshops and maintain a custom furniture shop on the side. I feel that other than my legal issues, nothing about smoking grass has affected my life negatively to this point. And before someone comes along to point out the health risks don't bother. I can die how I want to and that is none of your business.

+1, To responsible use, as far as the law are concerned in this....always the bucks, it's always the bucks most of the time for fineable offences in regard to 'soft' drugs and minor traffic offences, here at least too ; )

First off, let's try to not get political about this.

I've been raised in the mentality that pot is bad, burns your brain cells, is going to get you hooked on harder stuff and etc.

Recently I saw a movie called "The Union" for those who knows about that movie, and I'm simply asking myself where's the truth in all this.

I know every story has two side, but seriously what I saw in The Union is the total opposite of what I've always been told, yes the movie seemed biased, but to what extent?

Just being curious about the truth & lies related to cannabis.

Again, let's not get political over it, I don't want to know if it should be legal or if it will, or who will and who does.

I watched the movie recently. And bottom line is, what do you believe? I mean they are just stating facts, with some biased opinion. And they are quoting sources, so its not like they are pulling stuff out of the air.

Truth is no matter what, the people in power ONLY make decisions that are in their best financial interest. Like in the film where it was illegal to grow, until the government needed the the hemp for war, then after the war its illegal again, and it will only become legal when its too their advantage.

No! Cannabis is not what the liars have told you it is. Name one person who died from weed????????? How about government backed cigarettes?

Chances are my post will be removed, so considering that I will say this, if after watching that movie and still are unsure about what weed is then there is no hope.

Stories like these are why I am uninterested in visiting states that haven't decriminalized. Anything more than a civil citation is unnecessary and uncivilized.
