Jarrett,
Does the tonal difference between the maple and rosewood finger boards concern you or do you consider it a small factor in the bigger picture of electronics, body wood, etc.?
I hear a difference in them when I play rosewood versus maple boards. I know I dig maple, but the rosewood is nice too and provides a more mellow tone. Ebony is another thought, kind of looks like rosewood but sounds more like maple. It seems to be all about the density of the wood itself.

Jerrett,
Yep, We're on the same page. I'm partial to the sound of maple boards too. I would expect the pickups/preamp of the SB to be plenty capable of giving the brightness you'ld want, regardless of the fingerboard. The rosewood looks very classic!

The SB's are the one bass I think I could handle in a passive config as they sound good there. I personally like having that 100hz bass boost option available when needed, like when slapping or wanting to thicken my sound on the fly. I don't use the treble control that often. It typically sits on the center detent.

JoeVictim,

Perhaps you're a victim of the USPS. Why don't you give Carvin a call just to make sure
everything"s going OK. I'd be expecting more like 10 weeks. I placed my order on Feb 10,
it was due to be completed Apr 16. Now it's supposed to ship tomorrow.

I understand that there can be many variables determining how long a build takes. For instance, a boo-boo in the finishing stage can mean having to redo something. It's definitely not a static process. Sounds like you're one of the lucky ones! :-)
