Carvin SB5000 / SB4000 Roll Call...Part 6!

Congratulations to the soon to be owners! If I had been aware of how much I'd love playing this bass before my receive date, the wait would have been agony. Now, I live and love the wait through everyone else's posts. I do have my eye on a Carvin semi hollow archtop with the crazy awesome super AAAA finish..$2400 if you please..

I got overcharged for my second payment. Has anyone who called in and got a "special" price had an issue where your quoted price got "lost" somewhere and you were charged full price?

Just snagged an SB4001 off of Guitar Centers used inventory. The shipping charge from Wisconson to AZ was a little over $12.
Not sure how they do that.
Anyway it's a flamed maple body, uber stain, white pearl guard and rosewood fret board, abalone signature inlays, active/passive.
pretty excited...the wait begins....

Sounds like a killer bass. I've never played a chambered bodied SB. Did they have it up for a good price?

You don't get a choice like that (unless you're buying to replace ones in your current bass). The current version of the pickups are J99A's and the "ar" is just a reversed pickup. They put one of each in a bass to eliminate hum when both pickups are on.
