Carvin SB5000 / SB4000 Roll Call...Part 6!

March 23rd. I have also popped into this thread to mention not having my postcard several times. No one chimed in then, so I considered it normal. I thought you got the card a few weeks before it comes, not a few weeks after you order. I ordered by phone and set up the call as being a first time customer thinking the dude would ask my step by step what I wanted. NOPE. He was just like, ok what do you want? I was all like, what are my options? To which he had a snark reply of, whatever I wanted...

Yeah, not so happy with the customer service end. I also bought a cab that day as well. I think that Carvin would have been more service friendly considering most of their business is word of mouth and I dropped $1600 that day to boot. I shouldn't have to call in and beg to spend my money.

Yeah, I guess it depends on who you get. I called and got Steve S. and a few weeks later received a postcard stating the estimated build finish date.

The day before shipping, I received an email with my tracking number.

Can someone show a pic inside their control cavity? I have a B50K and I'm trying to wire up the preamp but just can't get it right. Carvin does not have a current diagram for the current preamp and the instructions with the kit are not thorough.

Thanks

You got instructions?! Man, I ordered the preamp about 6 months ago and it didn't come with anything. I just had wire it up the way I thought was right. Luckily, it worked.
I don't have my sb in front of me right now, but maybe I can help anyway. What seems to be the issue?

Whew, if I didn't have one on order this one that just hit the in-stock page would be mine:

I'm thinking about selling my Natural SB5000 (Maple/Ash) just because I want to try the HC combo.

Just throwing a little bump out here first if anyone is not interested in waiting.

^^^I've been thinking about posting up my 5001 also to try a different combo. I just don't want to give it away since I just bought this thing and I really like it. Someone not interested in waiting could avoid the 11 week wait and save a few bucks to boot.

I tried to capture the birdseye fb, but my camera kinda sucks for up close detail stuff like that. (or I don't know how to work the camera)

The pics do not do it justice. And even though I didn't select a fancy headstock, there is some nice birdseye on there too.

If I could have hand picked the body, I might have went with swamp ash and a 3ts. But since it's a crap shoot (you can't see the body first), I went with an opaque color. The action is so low, I have to take my ring off when I play or it catches on the frets. I will really try to get some clips up today for you, Corey. I know that won't help your GAS, but you asked for it ;)
