Really? My SB5000's upper horn sticks out of the iGig 525. Can't close it. Is that the same bag you have?
I also have the 515 like Freddels... maybe the 525 is different?

I'll do another check with it tonight and let you know for sure, but I'm pretty sure I've had it in there like Freddels says... maybe snug, but works ok.

Put my white pickguard back on. Been a while since I posted this baby. Deep orangeburst......

That does look nice. I ordered mine (also deep orangeburst) with a black guard, but it actually shipped with white (not pearl like yours)... I was surprised at how nice it looked, but I still preferred the black. However, if it had been pearl, I'm not so sure.

Pics of mine for reference...

As shipped...

And a third option just for kicks...

Run a black Sharpie along that white line on the guard and off you go!
I thought about that, but I have another dark colored bass I put a single-ply black guard on and it really didn't look as nice as I thought it would. Turns out, at least IMHO, having that thin line define the perimeter of the guard is really nice... helps it tie into the chrome plate and define it against the dark backdrop of the instrument.

Anyway, at least for me.

Awesome looking bass Vic. That pic in post #171 is also one that helped make up my mind on the deep orangeburst. Although, I decided to go with all black hardware and a birdseye maple board. To me, the black guard really makes the flamed top pop.

I believe they are different. I tried it again today and it won't go.

New bass came in yesterday. I had ordered both the white pearl and tortoise pick guards. I settled on the tortoise. I also ordered a set of black knobs to replace the original chrome. I hadn't seen anybody change these out but that was the look I was going for, black knobs on chrome hardware.

I have to admit that I am disappointed that my top wood doesn't have more wood grain to it. It is a plain maple top over alder, but I asked when it was ordered to get as grainy as piece of maple that I could get. That didn't work out. That is my only complaint. Finish and paint are great, neck is awesome and the tone is superb. I'll probably keep it but I"m not happy with the top wood. But it's still a cool looking bass to me. Tell me what you think.

I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on the SB5000. I'm gonna see if they will do a Mary Kay white for me. But,I really like the orange on the Deep Orangeburst. But,I would like to have just the orange, with no 'burst around the edges, with a birdseye 'board w/out a pickguard. I dunno if they'll do either of those colors, since they're not listed in their available colors. Think they could swing it?

First pic should be the original white pearl pick guard and chrome knobs. The 2nd should be the tortoise pick guard but still with the chrome knobs.

Vote your choice that you like best.
Right now my preference is the tort pick guard with black knobs.
Thanks.
