Carvin SB5000 / SB4000 Roll Call...Part 6!

Sorry, man. Fed Ex is usually the one that messes up my deliveries. You'll forget once your new bass in your hands. And I bet your old bass will still sound great on Sunday! :)

This is true. It is actually my fault and my banks fault. I lost and cancelled the card I paid my deposit on, and when they called me last Thursday I said "Oh yeah, just run the card I paid my deposit with." I didn't realize until Saturday, called Carvin on Monday to give them the new info. They called me on Tuesday and said it no workey. Exceded my daily limit. A few more phone calls, and finally the bass ships on Tuesday.

The Epic Fail is truely mine to own, but I can still whine about it, right?

Is this not what TB is for? :hiding:

Do you have more pictures of this one? What options and build codes does that have? Gorgeous.

Sure...and thanks!

Actually, she gets zero playing time since I bought a Carvin BB76. The SB may sound better, or different in a lot of ways, but I'm totally in love with 6's. I'm either going to sell her, or buy a custom mahogany neck and go fretless. It's a shame to have a bass this nice just sit there.

I bought second hand, but it is a mahogany body with spalted maple top and headstock. Single piece maple neck, ebony fretboard and standard frets. J99A pups, active/passive. I also put Dunlop locks, aftermarket with toothpicks but no glue. It came with a black pick guard that I put back on, and really makes it POP even though it's a crime to hide that top.

Thanks guys. It's Birdseye, though you can't tell from that pic. You guys weren't kidding, these things sound superb. This thing with the new Shuttlemax is lights out.

The only thing i'm not digging is the strings. I guess i am just too used to my DRs.

Oh. My. That is one of the most gorgeous SB's I've seen. I run a Shuttlemax as well, and it is a potent combination.

Stunning bass.
