Cheap Chinese fake

While that may be true for this particular group of people (they are counterfeiters after all), there are many legitimate Chinese builders that make great instruments.

Everything bass listed on ebay from Japan is at least twice the actual US retail or value...

Evilbay doesn't care either, as long as they get paid. They are worse than the sellers...
those are crap. if you want good cheap instruments made in asia, look at thomann.de they are no1 retailer in europe, and their harley benton instruments are made in china but they imho blow out squiers and can stand toe to toe with MIM fenders in some cases, for half the price of a squier. So anyone buying those chinese fakes is an idiot. also those crapshots give good chinese made instruments a bad name. 
I still wonder, if they have renamed this MusicMan with the MusicMan logo on the headstock "Precision", because the bridge is so precise??? Or because the frets, that gave the Precision its name, are missing...

I see pickguard as a leftover from toilet seat production. Plastic from the hole is given a new life.

Several years ago I reported a guy who was constantly listing counterfeit stuff (not music related) mixed in with his other legit merchandise offerings.
The first few times I just pm’ed him politely about it since I figured maybe he didn’t know. He resonded only once the first time to say he’d look into it. He never responded to the next few pms I sent him. But after awhile it became pretty obvious this wasn’t some guy who got took a few times and was unwittingly selling fake products. You could tell he knew something because he had one of those notices you sometimes see about how he was committed to customer satisfaction and if there were problems with any anything you got from him to please pm him directly rather than go through eBay and so it could be more quickly resolved.
So I finally started reported him to eBay any time I bumped into something clearly fake he was trying to pawn off.
Next thing I know I get a notice from eBay. Seems this guy filed a complaint against me. He told eBay that I was harassing him and interfering with him conducting business in violation of eBays rules.
Long story short, I had to get into a little back & forth with eBay about it. In the end I didn’t get a reprimand. But they didn’t shut the other guy down either.
I gave up at that point.
eBay is the wild west with the sheriff sleeping at his desk, collecting a paycheck.
Of course it's not just knock-off musical instruments, but everything that can be sold on eBay. It's a huge part of their income.
Am I crazy for not seeing a problem? Yes, it’s a copy of an existing model, but the list doesn’t claim it to be that model and the price doesn’t reflect what a person would pay for the real deal. It specifies in the ad that this isn’t a MusicMan, it’s a Human.
People intentionally buy replicas of stuff all the time, and build and sell kits and whatnot, and while it might prickle purists’ hairs that they might dare to put an authentic logo on an inauthentic instrument, players do that all the time too, as a cosmetic choice. Unless the seller is claiming it’s a real MusicMan, they’re not deceiving anyone except the kind of super-idiot who’d drop hundreds of dollars without reading what they’re buying.
And, having worked in retail, I can tell you with absolute certainty that those people are the real villains.

Almost everything you say is correct, except "Am I crazy for not seeing a problem?" . You aren't crazy, but there is a problem, because they are violating US law by counterfieting protected intellectual property, and brand copyright. If there were no "MusicMan" or other branding used, you'd be correct. FWIW, I see these fakes a lot available from the maker - and usually they qualify their product and labelling as an accurate "replica", as if the original maker has gone out of business, and now a vintage piece, like a Packard, or a Stromberg. Its weak, very weak on something like a MusicMan. And they are often targeted to the villians you speak of, who will pass these off on CL to less informed folk. Beware anything purchased on CL these days, if its anything worthy of fakery.
I have a friend who was so pleased with his made-in-China model, he married her.
