Cheap Chinese fake

Didn't the Japanese start the same way in the '60s and '70s, there only was no Ebay? German got big this way in the 19th century. "Made In Germany" was not a synonym for high quality, it was a synonym for cheap copies.
The Chinese are not better or worse than Americans or Japanese or Germans. There are only more or other possibilities today.

The first few times I just pm’ed him politely about it since I figured maybe he didn’t know. He resonded only once the first time to say he’d look into it. He never responded to the next few pms I sent him. But after awhile it became pretty obvious this wasn’t some guy who got took a few times and was unwittingly selling fake products. You could tell he knew something because he had one of those notices you sometimes see about how he was committed to customer satisfaction and if there were problems with any anything you got from him to please pm him directly rather than go through eBay and so it could be more quickly resolved.

So I finally started reported him to eBay any time I bumped into something clearly fake he was trying to pawn off.

Next thing I know I get a notice from eBay. Seems this guy filed a complaint against me. He told eBay that I was harassing him and interfering with him conducting business in violation of eBays rules.

Long story short, I had to get into a little back & forth with eBay about it. In the end I didn’t get a reprimand. But they didn’t shut the other guy down either.

I gave up at that point.

So I’ve heard.

There was a story about a guy who was an expert on antique pocket watches. He’d offer free expert advice as a public service when asked, or whenever something was listed incorrectly or was of dubious authenticity. I understand the only thing it ever got him was being banned from eBay for “interference.”

But many times nobody does anything even when provable fraud is going on. Check out this Invalid Link Removed.

I did get a reply from insulting vulgar message I sent to the A-hole that posted the item for sale...
All it says is "Trump voter ???"

I'm not sure if I should reply, but my instinct says yes and to tell them "No I'm just an actual human being that believes that being honest is the right way live."
Maybe eBay will suspend my account... I'll be so sad... I don't think I can make it through the rest of my life without them... :smug:
