Well it finally happened..I play in two bands....one is strictly cover and the other is original...so I thought the problem of double booking would be almost nil if we communicate.
The drummer of the original band gets a last minute call to fill in for a club...I have to tell him I am already booked (which he knew the blackout dates). Now they are pissed at me for letting them down...hey, if I could split myself in two I would....I was thinking of getting a sub for the cover band...but the arrangements are varied..and I don't have a book to give out...so .....will see how this lands

gigged a week ago and we were shite.too many mistakes.gotta gig tomorrow(sat)its on a bigger stage and we're up for it.

played gig and it went great.a few small errors but we were hot.am now sat down sinking a beer or 3.still got a buzz on from the gig so i'm gradually winding down, damn difficult some times though.its 1.50am and i've gotta take the mrs to work about 7-ish.am today.take it easy.:hyper:

My new band just got a fill-in gig for Sunday.
It'll be my first gig playing bass in a whole lotta years (mostly been gigging playing ethnic percussion for quite a while).
I'll be singing a bunch, too. Should be fun.
The kicker is that we're hired for 3 hours, and we have about an hour and a half of material set.
So I'm guessing we're gonna do a lot of blues and rock standards. "Hey, you guys know "One Way Out"?

Gig went great. We've been asked back. Gig was outdoors and cold (windy, mostly) but big fun.
Sets went by fast. We didnt' even have to break out any Allman Brothers.
New rig (Genz Benz NeoPak with BFM Omni10) totally rocked.
There's always room for improvement but overall, it was a great time.
IT'S GREAT TO BE PLAYING BASS AGAIN! :D

our gig last month had an awesome time... the crowd was great...

Super excited for this weekend.

We've got our first "bar" show tonight, which will be absolutely packed. Apparently tonight is one of the biggest bar nights of the year (due to tomorrows stat. holiday). A ton of friends are coming out and it will be a blast.

Ive also got a show on saturday night, subbing in with my girlfriends uncle's band. Should be an experience as alot of the songs were released before I was born. Its a dance so apparently theres always people up and moving. Can't wait!.

Wish me luck :hyper:

My originals band is at the Calvert House Inn in Riverdale tomorrow night. It's close to the U of MD, so hopefully some college folks will be in. I've never been there, don't know what to expect. I just hope there's enough stage room! If there is a stage, that is.

Did a gig Friday night at one of our newest clubs.........good crowd, great response.........and now we rest. I had Saturday of, and have all of next weekend off, before starting a stretch that begins the first weekend of April and shows no open dates until late June. I'm lookin' forward to it!

Tomorrow night my current band is going to play a regular 5-6 song set with some pretty cool local bands, and then immediately after we get done, my OLD band is going to get back together for a two or three song "surprise" reunion set.

I made a thread about it called "Surprise Reunion Gig" if you want to read more details.

I'm also playing at church on Sunday morning.

This is an easy weekend for me.........my gig's already done! Did a short concert with my steel drum band today for a music educator's convention. Went great, even as the first gig we've done in months.........this band is pretty much seasonal, spring and summer kind of stuff.

My "main" band is off this weekend, before starting on a string of no open dates for quite a while.

Truly, that does not sound convenient.

On the other hand, we've got an easy one tomorrow, a new club for us, but since you mentioned it, an easy load in, right up the ramp and a couple of steps to the stage. :smug:

Rumor has is that we'll have a good crowd, as the club is talking up the show, and a bunch of our regulars are bringing along a bunch of friends..........I'll let ya all know how it goes. :bassist:

Playing at the Aragon Lounge in Columbus, OH tonight. It's pretty much classic rock and country, and we're going in as The Lucky Strikes. Long night ahead - 5 sets, and I've got a messed up knee. I'll probably be sitting on the Ashdown all night. And watching my drinking with the Vicodin.
