Yes if the cover comes off. The humbucker will have two coils and the single just one. You could also pm Evan, the basses original owner. His username is E-Mac.
Hi Markus. Happy New Year. No, I've never tried. Mine have never been out of my Decade. I was just saying that if it was not sealed it would be visually easy to tell the difference.
It doesn't make sense that they would have put large cover singles in a DJ when the smaller jazz covers were available. Besides that he had two DJs with Chis. They would sound radically different. You would know if you ordered buckers and got singles instead. The simplest test is to solo the pickups. Single Chis hum like a bitch when soloed or favored slightly. The humbuckers will not.
Yes, when I've soloed them at home they were super quiet. I think Brian at Lakland may have it wrong.
Also, I'm seriously considering dropping a set of chi-sonic singles in my Glaub mutt. Besides the added versatility of having a bridge pickup, the black headstock of the decade neck and black pickguard would match up really well with the aesthetics of the chis.

That worked perfectly. Gently used the tip of the screwdriver and found two rows of magnetic pull. Humbucker. Good suggestion.
Chi sonic height? Been really getting familiar with my sonic blue DJ with chi HH. Anybody know factory pickup heights? I found a tech sheet with pup heights, but the only chi bass listed was a decade. Use those specs for the DJ? Appears that the chi's need to be a little further away from the strings than their other pickups. Right?
When i adjusted them to the decade specs, the two chi H pups did blend a lot better.

Yes. Just did a height adjust on my single coil Chi's; made all the difference. When they're close (like a Fender Jazz), it's just too hot and you don't get that lovely 'grind' that single coil Chi's are capable of... Mine are now almost flush with the bezel and they sound fantastic!
