If I remove the chrome housing, can you visually see if it is a single or humbucker?
saltymonkey said:Yes if the cover comes off. The humbucker will have two coils and the single just one. You could also pm Evan, the basses original owner. His username is E-Mac.
You can take you covers off? None of mine could come off.

Yes, emac says they are humbuckers. But Lakland told me they were singles.
Yes, when I've soloed them at home they were super quiet. I think Brian at Lakland may have it wrong.
You're welcome to try my Osborn w/chi singles first to see if you dig the tone.Smallequestrian said:Also, I'm seriously considering dropping a set of chi-sonic singles in my Glaub mutt. Besides the added versatility of having a bridge pickup, the black headstock of the decade neck and black pickguard would match up really well with the aesthetics of the chis.
Need to make that 2 mile journey to the factory at some point soon.
IIRC, Evan changed around his order during the process--and he ordered the fretless w/singles @ the same time--so lakland's info could be mixed up.projectapollo said:Yes, emac says they are humbuckers. But Lakland told me they were singles.

Cool, just let me know. I've got a practice space where it can be cranked up.I'm out of the country for the next week, but I might try to take you up on that offer when I get back.
Just take a screwdriver to them and find the pole pieces.
Chi sonic height? Been really getting familiar with my sonic blue DJ with chi HH. Anybody know factory pickup heights? I found a tech sheet with pup heights, but the only chi bass listed was a decade. Use those specs for the DJ? Appears that the chi's need to be a little further away from the strings than their other pickups. Right?
When i adjusted them to the decade specs, the two chi H pups did blend a lot better.
