Hey all!

I bought a 44-94 with chi's off a fellow tb'er and it arrived yesterday, and I've got to say these pickups are without a doubt the best I have laid my ears on.. every note is crystal clear, and combined with the lh3 so many tonal colours are available.. but the thing I love is no matter what option you select eveything just sounds downright ballsy, especially when going into bucker mode.. even at a low volume those chi's make the floor move and my neighbours knock on the ceiling lol.. I can't wait to try these pup's out at the next gig! :hyper:

Hanson and Lakland.. finally a marriage that makes sense :D

Oh and if it's not too much trouble can I grab a number?

Mannnn that gold is seriously classy, and a perfect match with the rosewood/birdseye on the neck.. I love the way the chi's give the decade it's old school 'darkstar' vibe.. but this is probably one of the nicest I have seen.. congrats :D

Right on! Yep...great pickups! Clear and ballsy...just the way I like it!

You're #26

Liking in California...I'm not used to this. What happens if you play it cold? Pull a hamstring?:-)

What happens if you play it cold? Pull a hamstring?:-)

Oh yeah right...HA HA HA and ummm HA!
a lil Cali humor...noice...

Hey man if i pulled this thing out of that freezing cold case without letting it thaw for several hours, things could for sure tweak...
Lots of not so good stuff can happen.
So even though I was dying to check it out...I left it to thaw in the case.

But just plugged it in...
The Chi singles are awesome...very responsive!! clear as a bell and BOOMING!!
Only thing I can say after messing with it for 35 mins or so.
If that I am for sure an Active kinda guy.
The passive I find limited to some degree.
I LOVE the Active humbuckers and pre amp and all the knobs and switches on my 44-07!!!

I think I will find a nitch for this bass within my playing .....But if I had to only have one thus far it would be the 44-07 over the Decade.....at first thought.

I seem to recall you commenting on a Decade someplace here on TB that was Active....was this done custom at the factory? or some aftermarket set up?
I would love to have this baby converted over to an Active bass by Lakland at some point possibly...

If you want active, You could send it to Lakland and have them put an LH3 in it, buy an Audere in it or track down an LH3 pedal.

I dunno?
They have silver thread on the end....guessing they might be those Lakland steels ya spoke of to someone else I was reading earlier?
They seem to be round wounds...but are really smooth? Not rough to the touch like most rounds are.
They have a woody vibe to them.....not like typical rounds.
More of a thumpy string...not a snarly string.
Hard to explain I guess?
I will ask Ian what they are if he recalls.
