Halloween is the BEST holiday. I used to torture my kids with the best themed costumes. They especially hated the year that all the moms were characters from Willie Wonka and we dressed all the kiddies up as Oompa Loompas.

Here are my babies for their trick or treat last night.

Ashton, the oldest of my babies.

Brynlee, the ginger-baby.

Emeri, the charmer with a wicked right hook.

And of course, last, but not least, the Rebel of the bunch...

LMAO...oh man...that is awesome!

Your grandbabies are adorable. I especially have a soft spots for the red heads, as I have one myself...although she is more of a strawberry blonde. :smug:

great stuff. I'm jealous, my kids are grown. One of these days, grandkids perhaps.

Or I could just costume up and go for it!

Thank you! It's looking like Rebel's going to be a ginger, too. A little darker, perhaps, but I'll know for sure when I get home in December.

I used to make all my kids Halloween costumes. It was THE holiday. The whole family on the same theme, usually. When they got into school, their friends got into the themes, too. Some of the fun ones....

  • Willy Wonka theme - Grownups were characters from the movie; kids were all Oompa Loompas
  • Wizard of Oz - we did this one twice - One year the kids were the main characters and I was the Wizard; one year the older kids were the main characters and the younger kids were, respectively - Munchkins, the people of the Emerald City, the Horse of Another Color, and the flying monkeys
  • Vegetables & Fruit (peas in a pod, a bunch of grapes, an apple, and broccoli)
  • Christmas decorations (an ornament, the star, a string of lights, and an electrical outlet)
  • Creatures of Greek Mythology - Cerberus, Medusa, Pan, and the Ketea
  • Japanese Kabuki artists and Geishas
If I lived closer, I'd probably be making the grandkiddies costumes, too.

surf rock ... it was one of the major music categories growing up and I still miss it. "Wipe Out" was way overdone ... but "Pipeline" or "Walk Don't Run" ... I'd love to play that stuff again. :bassist: Kind of a lost genre, though.

Finally, something I can talk about. I'm in a surf instrumental band. We do all these. check out our Link Removedpage and [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] page. Not sure why but we have different covers on each site.

Actually, she was in more trouble than he was. He punched her in self defense.

Self-defense...that's what they ALL say. :D
Then I'm like, "You liked two minutes ago, but now it's self-defense? Sure. The gag wasn't that tight. You coulda got that safe-word out!" :D And then I zap him with a stun gun, and I'm like, "See that? Now that's self-defense!" And he nods, or spasms...one of the two....but it's a spasm of agreement. :p

That is awesome. My kids fight too much over their costumes. I wanted them to be garden gnomes with me, but they had to be Angry Birds. I convinced the little one that she was a Happy Bird, and that was better than an angry bird, but the middle one had to be a Bomb Bird...lol...which is how I ended up stapling felt together last minute...I kept trying to talk him out of it for a costume he already had. Oh well. Next year I'm going to try the whole family theme. I bet I could get my mom and sister in on it too. :smug:

You should be grateful I'm on the Asus with the nifty little inside the keyboard protection system or you'd be owing me a new laptop. I just spit tea all over the place. ROFLMFAO.

Are you gonna zap him a second time just to confirm he knows what self-defense really is? LOLOL.

Seriously, kinda, she went screaming to the lobby of an ultra pricey South Beach hotel because he hit her, but the blood on her face was from his tongue where she bit him. Security called the cops, who took them both to jail. She claimed he didn't pay her and that's why she bit him. He claimed he didn't know why she bit him, just that he tried to kiss her, she bit down on his tongue, and wouldn't let go. I'm pretty sure he either said, "You're gonna love my nuts," or just plain wouldn't stop talking. At any rate, they both got taken to the pokey and later all the charges were dropped against them both. FWIW, he admitted agreeing to pay her $1000 to do the deed, and she had over $900 in cash in her purse when they checked her in at the jail. At least if there was a big mess, he had something to clean up with.

Secrets to success - start planning now. Don't give them a bunch of choices. I only ever gave them two choices on the day after Halloween. Then I spent the rest of the year working on the costumes and accessories. Yeah, you might miss a short term fad, but the costumes are SO much better in the long run.

So...I'm off to bed now. That whole stun gun thing has sent my head to weird places involving Puss in Boots, ball gags, and those pinchy clothespins. I'll be hearing "But you liked it two minutes ago!" in my dreams tonight. :eyebrow: Thanks a lot, Monkeybutt. ;);) That's like having the theme from Sesame Street stuck in your head while you're in a strategic planning meeting.
