chick vs chick with bass: electric boogaloo

Now I'll spend the whole week figuring out which bass to wear - and which shoes. I could take requests. Wonder how that would turn out?

Tat2dHeart,

If I get a vote, I'd say you should rock some stilettos; red ones, if ya got em! :-)

TBird, Holy he** can you play! Saw the video, so smokin' hot - great look, great sound. :bassist:

Just to keep the pics coming, I looked through my hard drive and found this one. It's the front photo to match the over-the-shoulder one posted earlier. The bass is my old one - I oughta get some good shots with my Marcus Miller sometime...

And can I just say, I love this thread because it encourages expression and diversity, celebrates sexuality and music, and also because it challenges people to evaluate their own judgments of others. We wouldn't be getting all the haters if something about it weren't a little bit threatening to people with closed minds. Challenging people's dicriminatory beliefs may cause some nasty reactions, but it's also how progress happens. So, to all those funny, positive people making this thread so great, keep posting! :-)

That was the pic that inspired the "cuter legs that Phalex' in my sig.

Even when I was young and handsome, my legs NEVER looked that good. But after seeing pics Phalex in shorts I felt so much better about my hirsute legs.

It's all good. As far as guys dressed as girls go, Tbird's (and his guitar player, omg, drool) got it down. I can't imagine going to one of their shows and not having a good time. If I lived closer I'd totally be a groupie. If you guys let me I'd raid your closets, and your wigs! :p
But guys as guys...if they spend more time shaving/waxing than me...well, they're probably too pretty for me. With the exception being if they're looking like Lon Chaney...well, maybe I'll bust out the back wax on ya.:D

Here's a little omg fun for everybody. :D

I'll give Dee big props. After the Station Fire/ Great White Show that killed 100 people some years ago, Dee put together a huge benefit at our local arena to help people with the medical bills.

Dee is an A+++++ guy, and he cares about people. He didn't have to do any of that, he could have been another Eagles kind of self absorbed jerk, but that isn't who he is.

Just sayin...

Respect is earned. He has earned his.

+1
Dee is also the honorary chairman for the March of Dimes Bikers for Babies. He does a lot to help promote the March of Dimes and help them raise money.

What??!! We missed the opportunity for a hurricane party??? Well, tropical storm party, anyway. And I had a whole four days off, too! Story of my life.

LOL. I knew I should have gone back and edited that. Committed I am now I see. Now I'll spend the whole week figuring out which bass to wear - and which shoes. I could take requests. Wonder how that would turn out?

Can't go wrong wearing a Jazz ...just saying.....

You guys are certainly the best!
Why live in any shame of what you are and that which makes you happy? My life's too short for that. I'd rather take the joy from every day - makes life so much more pleasant.

I can't speak highly enough of our drummer. He's so cool and an excellent, dedicated musician, and a real band member/team player. There's a saying something like "Your band is only as good as your drummer"
Our guy Wayne makes us a good band, and makes my job playing the bass a real joy.

Me flippin' the 'Bird! I'd kinda forgotten about this pic - All in good fun.

Kids in America....(on youtube) awesome job.
Back in 85 me a some friends did a few shows dressed as DR Frankenfurter.......Nowadays NO ONE would want to see me in that Teddy(LOL)
Great job .........come east and I will catch every show I can.

Thanks for the vote! No red ones, but I have stilettos in black (at least a dozen pair), blue, brown, and grey, to name a few. Oh yeah, and the cute lime green slides with the pink, yellow, blue and lime green stripes. They're just fun. And there's still time to acquire another pair or two before the weekend.:D

TBird, Holy he** can you play! Saw the video, so smokin' hot - great look, great sound.

I KNOW!! I'm tempted to beg TBird to be my shopping buddy on my next visit to Seattle so I can learn where he buys his boots. So so so sexy!

Just to keep the pics coming, I looked through my hard drive and found this one. It's the front photo to match the over-the-shoulder one posted earlier.

Great pic. I think between this and the over the shoulder, I like the over the shoulder better, but it's probably that "I've got a secret" look you're rocking in that one that gets under my skin.

I appreciate the vote. The basses I have right now are all P's, but I have a friend or three who might let me borrow a Jazz to accessorize with. I'll have to make sure I have shoes to match, too.;)

TBird, there are not many cross-dressers in my local area (not in public anyway)...I'm stuck in the bible-belt, and ironically, this is probably the last place on earth they would get much acceptance. Thank you for being you, and for giving me an opportunity to teach my 9 year old son that it's ok to be different than everyone else and be yourself. And to teach him that I believe, it is the only way that anyone can truly find life worth living.
Rock On...

Well said, I couldn't agree with you more.

This from a straight, white, old bassist who grew up in middle class suburban NYC.

All I ever wanted for my kids was for them to be happy. No judgements, just happy.

Although not everyone is chiming in, there is a large group of very cool and non-judgemental people who frequent this forum.

So true, and so welcome to those of us involved in an alternative lifestyle. Be it L,G,B,T, D/s, crossdress or any other.

And as requested, more chicks with bass.

Haven't seen any of Sheryl yet. True she's not a bassist exclusively but she plays bass a lot and heck, I think she's hot. So...

WITH!

Without ...came close, only because that looks like my Ampeg behind her. I really like my Ampeg.
But, if ya get too naked, it removes the mystery....I like mysteries. I have an excellent imagination.

If I voted on my own post it would be without, simply because of the legs. My weak spot. But With was close, she looks good in cuffs.

One of my guitarists uses that Ampeg too. Great amp. I've played my bass through it at low volume a few time doing semi-acoustic recording. Wonderful tone.

She's OK, def the with pic, but I think she's too California skinny.
Ok, I am biased.

I like 'soft' and 'warm' and 'curvy'.

I have always loved ladies with definition.

Off topic story:
I went to town to wash my wife's car, and picked up my man Deken for a coffee. We were sitting on a bench outside, enjoying a beautiful day and shooting the bull. A lady in a nice green dress came walking by, and right at that time when the subtle eye contact gets made, I said 'You look beautiful today'.

She sauntered on, looked back and said, 'Oh, thank you...'

I looked at my bro and said, "compliments cost nothing, but I bet you she will feel good all day". He didn't really say anything, we are guys, he knew where I was coming from.

I try to make it a habit to say something nice randomly to people. It's a wonderful world and it is a good thought pattern to appreciate the beauty of it in all its forms. And you never know, a few kind words can make so much difference in other peoples lives

Another comment from a old straight guy...

TBird1958 is, in my mind, one of the coolest bassists on the planet. I can't look like him, or be him, but I admire his talent and comfort in who he is. He is one of the reasons lately that I take so much tremendous pride in being a musician. That is inspirational in so many ways to me. Thanks T, I hope we can meet someday, first libation is on me.
