chick vs chick with bass: electric boogaloo

On the covers I might have some slack, but getting it right is a big deal to me. I'm making good progress with those, though. On the original, the primary songwriter told me to own it and make it my own. Unfortunately, I'm still way too new to feel comfortable in what I'm laying down there.

Some of these have such iconic bass lines that messing them up would really be a bad thing to do. Here's what we've got on the list in no particular order:

Lawyers, Guns & Money - Warren Zevon
Hotel California - The Eagles
Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd
World I Know - Collective Soul
Losing My Religion - REM
Love Her Madly - The Doors
Gimme Shelter - Playing For Change arrangement (way less busy than the Stones arrangement, but a far different groove)
Use Somebody - Kings of Leon
A Whiter Shade of Pale - Procol Harum
Radar Love - Golden Earring
Born to Run - Bruce Springsteen
Jasmine Wind (the original)

Lawyers, Guns, and Money is my fav, but entirely great set list. Can you send me the original? No promises, but I'll see if I can get you the chords out of it, at least enough to get started.

Are we supposed to stop posting when we get to 1000?

Bolded my favorite songs on that list xD Floyd, Stones, and Procol Harum being tops.

Here's the Gimme Shelter arrangement we're doing.

I love this whole set. So far, I've learned the Eagles, Pink Floyd, Zevon, Playing for Change, and gotten most of the Collective Soul down. The original is the one that really has me on the edge of a panic.

Here's the track. I have a chord chart already if you want to see that and compare. I've gotten that far, at least.

Then listen to the original 10000+ times and get the jist of it. Owning it doesn't mean you have to solo the whole song or anythng, plod pocket playing is usually the safest way to handle song youre uncomfortable with. Playing in punk and metal bands for my whole gigging life so far I haven't had the luxury of playing in the pocket much but it seems that's what most other people do.
