Idk it's probably just my heavy music influence but they don't have any dirty grind to them. Its just smooth, mellow bass which is cool for some people I guess. I just havent liked any bass I've played with flats.

I just wanna try them because I haven't and it's important to put them on my current favorite baby so they get a fair workout. Although - I'll probably try them on all the babies because they might sound different on each one. I have all the time in the world to learn what I like and only the limit of my budget to set the pace.

The LaBella tapewounds will sound darker and smoother than a round wound - about halfway between a flat and a round generally speaking. The other string I like is DR Black Beauties, again dark, smooth and deep and the coating on the new ones really feels good and holds up great. I'm just not a stainless roundwound kinda guy I guess.

I'm probably going to end up trying them all. Along the journey so far, I've learned that I have to have a heavy gauge - I have short fingers, but strong ones (except my pinkie) and I put too much bend on lighter gauges even when I don't think I am. Apparently the strength is an upside of dealing poker.

Yeah totally.

All that stuff was funny at first, but it's kinda getting a bit much now - I've seen tamer stuff on xtube!

Firstly it's making myself and a few others very uncomfortable and secondly it's close to crossing into rule-breaking territory - maybe it would be a good idea to carry it on in PM?

No offence intended of course.
