Chorus For Bass. Am I Insane?

Never have seen one of these and the reviews for guitar are really good.
Ever have a chance to compare it to a bass specific Boss or EH chorus?
Not specifically. I've owned both those pedals but it was long ago and they were used pretty infrequently. What I can say about the vintage Maxon is it's incredible warm and SUPER powerful...can get some crazy sounds if you're into that. I mainly got it to do the 80's Duran Duran thing in a band I play in and it's perfect. When engaged it adds a bit of 'boost' and that's appreciated...If I could harness just the boost without the effect I'd probably use it often on tunes where the bass is mixed high and fat.

I ended up buying a Tech 21 Bass Boost Chorus, and I am really liking this thing as an "Always-On," sound (combined with a GK Legacy 800, and a Keeley Compressor Pro).

As I mentioned in my post the chorus circuit in the Roland JC-120 Jazz Chorus amp is the exact same as that of the Boss CE-1, which sounds absolutely glorious for bass as well, and which the Zoom "Vintage CE" model on their multi stompbox effects (the MS-50G, MS-60B and MS-70CDR) does a great job at emulating.
I am quite happy with the TC Electronic 3rd Dimension chorus pedal. Might take off some of the low end, though.
Has the Tech21 BBC been discontinued? Also very much interested in the new GK Legacy 800 ... but there are other threads for that.
The Tech 21 Bass Boost Chorus was apparently made in small numbers, before it was discontinued. It's solid, it works, has extremely versatile tone varieties, and as soon as you see one, pick it up.
As for the Legacy 800, it has enough knobs to get you what you want.

Another vote for the MXR Bass Chorus Deluxe. Mine is on 90% of the time, using X-over mode.

i have the tech 21 and have been eyeing a cs9. How would you compare the two?
The Tech 21 is more versatile for shaping the sound of your chorus (I like it for getting The Cure sound); however, I just preferred the overall sound character of the CS9. I could get almost, but not quite the same sound out of the Tech21. In the end it came down to pedal size and knob twiddling so I went with the CS9 for my gig board due to the smaller form factor and fewer knobs to adjust when they get shifted. Still have the Tech21 on my practice/backup board.
Thanks! I just ordered a vintage cs9, so I'm excited to compare it to the tech 21. I agree that the tech 21 has a lot of controls that im having to constantly "fix" when they get bumped around
you were right! The cs9 is very close to my favorite sound with the tech 21. With a lot less knobs! This one is staying on my board for sure.
