You are correct sir(and no I'm not being sarcastic).
Nor was I.
I almost added another thought, but didn't. That is, that even some convicted felons are not what I'd consider to be dangerous criminals whose lives should be forever ruined because of the "felon" label. I'm talking about non-violent crimes. Example: The young man who gets caught growing pot. All of a sudden he is "a felon", and has a hard time finding a good job for the rest of his life. Probably wouldn't even be prosecuted in some states, but had the misfortune of committing his "crime" in a state with tougher laws. Sometimes life sucks and isn't fair. (And this is coming from a guy who worked in law enforcement most of his life.)
That being said, I don't see anything worth trying to redeem for certain crimes/criminals. Case in point: The group over in Eastern Tennessee who kidnapped, raped, tortured, and murdered the young couple because they wanted their vehicle. Although the media doesn't really discuss it, the torture was absolutely horrendous. It's hard to fathom that human beings could do some of the things that they did to those poor kids. I have no sympathy for people capable of doing those things.
I realize that this is WAY off point from the Chris Henry discussion. Sorry...
