Its the MATCHING Pbass to my LG5. Alder body and DB Board.
I played it when he brought me the LG5 and man that bass has something special. Almost wanted it MORE than the LG5 when i had them SIDE by SIDE! I'm not to crazy about owning IDENTICAL color scheme basses..but when its THOSE woods...and that classis combo....I DONT MIND ONE BIT!!!!!!

Edit: This was simply something he mentioned...not like tomorrow hes selling it tomorrow..but man ...I have officially decided to not GAS for another AC. So i can have the $$$$ WHEN this one comes up! HA!

That was an old pic He sent me when we were discussing our trade. But i recently talked to him and he mentioned that and i was all giddy! HA!

I just sold my LM but after hearing the talk of BA bridges i kinda wish i had tried one out before i moved it. Good thing is its a local guy and a good friend so its only a call away!

Man, those BA bridges do nothing for me. I guess I can see them being kind of cool on a gloss neck LM to really get that kind of '70's do it yourself upgrade' sort of funk look that we all had back in the day. Not my thing though, and the standard brass hipshot has plenty of mass to provide plenty of meat and pop without the strange aesthetics of those huge BA models. IMO, of course.

Ah... so you can only get a 4 string LM with that old school type bridge? That would not be a good thing IMO. Jimmy needs to get on the stick and get a hipshot option for those, if I'm understanding this correctly. I don't pay much attention to the 4 string models, since I'm a fiver through and through. The hipshot on the 5 string LM is a beautiful thing, aesthetically, functionally, and tone-wise IMO and IME.

Which Hipshot is it, Ken? I'm thinking about changing for the bent plate on my LG5, which I've never liked.

I'm not up to speed on the exact spec's of those bridges. Jimmy could tell you.... I believe it is a standard brass (nickel plated) 'B' type, but not sure. GREAT bridge IMO in every way. The Hipshot Jimmy uses is a direct replacement for the bent plate, so that should be an easy swap.

Thanks! The Sadowsky stays in another location at this time (in a city where I gig quite a bit, so I don't have to fly with a bass), but I will bring my little Zoom recorder with me on the road sometime and do a video recording with the F500/410UL rig I keep there.

In the meantime, if you click on the link in my profile, I have quite a few audio clips of the Sadowsky with various LDS cabs and the F1/F500 listed. Edit: Remember, my Sadowsky has the optional single coils, so it is a bit punchier, grindier, and a bit more 'raw' than the default Sadowsky J tone with the stock HC's (Joeykun has some very nice clips up of his Sadowsky with HC's and the F1).

I, on the otherhand, have always wanted a BA bridge for looks... I just love how big it is! But I never got around to it til now. And after it was on, the improvement in punch and lowend was very noticeable... For me anyway. The RA5 and LM5 will have it... But not on an LG5 if I ever get one... It's a 70's thing.


Btw, I forgot to acknowledge Gil's post regarding his RA5... Nice one man! Glad to know I wasn't the only one to hear the difference. Jonno's gonna want one even more now, Haha... Back off man, the one at the shop is mine! :D

No offense, but I'm on the opposite side of this fence. I actually don't like how big it is, but that's just MHO/FWIW. To me, the Hipshot B is my fave functionally, and aesthetically, the bent plate.
