Hi all
i tried to contact Jimmy by mail , but did not get an answer and the pricelist on his website does not work. Perhaps somebody can help me, I just would like to know the approximate price of a basic Alleva 1600 5 - String in 2010, because I consider to order one if the price is not totally out of my budget. thanks - Pete

Played my AC at church today. Right now, my LEJ cuts better live, but I'm new to the AC. GIve me a lil time and I'll have it figured out. Was using my Tecamp rig, Puma 500 & S212. But I did notice on cab I had tweet turned completely off. OK, I was running late. LOL!
all the videos in my youtube link below are my 62 and 78 jazzes through a coppolo outboard. great box. worth it at the used price i paid. not sure if id pay the 350 though.

In your case it would REALLY be best to just give Jimmy a call, because as far as I know the 1600 is a completely custom model - there isn't a basic spec. So the price would depend on the woods and options that you want.

Totally overexposed from the sun. When it comes to photography, I don't know my a$$ from a hole in the ground. One of these days I'll get somebody more proficient to take a couple of shots, though
I really think it's one of those basses that really "pops" in person.
i think this has been touched before but i just had this happen and i am kind of annoyed. I sent Jimmy a mail and he responded. My saddle keeps moving. IT NEVER happened before but yesterday at this BIG event we did in Mexico it went UNPLAYABLE. Thankfully i had my allen wrenches with me.. and its been doin it all day today. Jimmy said the only fix is Locktite (blue) or getting a hipshot. I am very tempted to just throw a BAV. Need some advice...i dont wanna lose the tone and vibe i have now but i cant be adjusting it every gig.

thats kind of the nature of that bridge. jimmy uses a hipshot b as standard i think which you probably wouldnt have any issues with. or the hipshot bent plate bridge is great as well. both of those would keep the vibe closer to what it is than a bav
hipshot bridges a relatively cheap. i dont know if jimmy is charging more for bridges with his mounting holes though. the bent plate is much more open and quick sounding than a badass. the low mass has some more sparkle. i just put a hipshot a on my 62 jazz and the low mass version of that killed a lot of the sparkle of the original bridge.
if you like the way it sounds now, id stick with the hipshot bent plate or hipshot b. i hear the steel version of the hipshot bent plate is getting great reviews.

This is my first TB post btw but I frequent this group often & have found it very helpful...thanx. Now I've just got to decide on an LG or RA...

Decades ago i had the same issue with a fender bridge... At that time i pulled the adjust screws out and put a little bees wax on them and then re inserted.. that held them in place just fine.. but now a little BLUE loctite would do just fine.

To MikeXbass: Mike, I'm not sure if you've always been his bassist but I love your playing. I was introduced to Coalo Zamorano's stuff when I went on a summer mission trip to Honduras and Guatemala in 2006 and I loved the few songs I did get to learn while on the trip.
And on the subject of Alleva's, I'm proud to confirm that my AC LG5, at least, sounds similar, if not the same as what you hear in that video. [So if anyone's looking to get an LG5 used if you can find one, or order one new, I'd say it's a good example of what it will sound like + or - your own playing abilities compared to Mike's haha]
If you love the sound of your bass with that bridge dont stress I had that same issue with the bent plate on my first LG just back out each screw than put just a touch of blue loctite on the thread of each screw than screw them back in to playing position.

Yea, you should definitely try the Loctite first before making any decisions to swapping out bridges. When I first got my LG5, the height of the strings were fine, but after a while, the saddles for the D and mainly the G, kept dropping causing crazy buzzing and unplayability past the 12th fret. [I didn't know, at the time, that it was the saddles doing this, and was afraid since I assumed the neck was going bad or something]
When I took the bass in for Jimmy to do a setup, he put Loctite on the saddles and they haven't moved since and it's been about 8 months now.
