Still waiting on my LM5 it should be coming in the next 30 days, I am very excited!
I have been preferring to use my Sadowsky UV70 over my LG5 on most gigs recently and I have high hopes for the LM. It's funny the UV70 sounds kind of harsh and over the top at home, while the LG5 is very warm and sounds wonderful. The opposite is true on my gigs. The UV70 shines through and is clear as a whistle while the LG5 tends to get lost at the same volume settings.

For most of the gigs I do, this is exactly the case. I never play anything at home other than my LG. I rarely play anything on a gig other than my LM (or my ash/maple Sadowsky on occasion).
Of course, if I had different tone goals or played different types of gigs, things might be very different!
I had a 4 set gig on Saturday night which has a huge St Patrick's day party. Big PA and at least 1000 in the club, people crammed in everywhere. I used my NL210 cabinet/Iamp Pro and for the 1st three sets I used the UV70, I've got it sounding pretty good at this point.
For the 4th set I thought I'd bring out the LG, two songs into the set I bagged it (and I don't like to or have the opportunity to change basses mid set). I couldn't hear myself and things just sounded to flat or dead, even with my readjusted EQ settings. Went right back to the UV70 and got a huge smile and thumbs up from the sound guy.
Typically this is not so much the case when I'm using 2x 2x10 cabs and can feel the LG more. In this case with a packed club before sound check and the terrible storms I couldn't both bringing a second cabinet. This is ussually a club where a 2x10 is not enough. It was enough for the 70s spec, but not the 60s spec, kind of interesting. The UV70 is really light but I prefer the feel of the AC significantly and I am hoping that the LM5 will be the best of both worlds.

I'm not a fan of carpet for a practice area. When I get to a gig, I usually find that everything I thought about what sounds good from playing at home has to be thrown out the window and I need to start again.
Where the heck is the fun in that.Try not to be a trouble maker once in your life.....

This does get very complicated, I'd go as far as saying I play this club every month. It's a big place with a massive sub system that is right at the front of the stage. There are times where I am so loud I can turn my amp off, other times with a different soundman I can't hear myself. Most times I bring 2x 210 cabs to this gig. For this event it's not practical since the town is shut down and it's a long walk. There are two events like this every year in this club (St Pat's and Thanksgiving Eve), where we have a huge crowd and scaled down equipment.
This same club on a normal Friday or Saturday with a few hundred people the LG kills it and on occassion I had used the KBP5 before selling it. I've always had issues on the big dates, until the UV70 came along.

I am hoping that the LM5 will work well too we'll see....I could probably get a little nutty with Jimmy's pre I barely if ever touch the treble control.
BTW I am hoping to keep my basses to two. So I've got the LG5 and the UV70 and the LM5 on the way. I'm not sure I will be able to part with any of them we'll see. I did find a way to sell my beloved Lakland JO as well as my KBP5 w/DN, so there is hope....

It's nice when you can use your wireless during sound check to wander far off the stage and into the room to hear yourself in the mix... nice, but usually meaningless as not much is in your control.
