I put on a set of DR low rider stainless on my LG5 and they sound great. I would tend to describe them as between Hi Beams and Jimmy's nickels. They have the bight of nickels and the brightness of hi Beams, probably closer to hi beams then nickels.

It is also worth mentioning that my LG5 has an old growth honduran board which is "brighter" and more different then most peoples experience with an LG with either an indian or DN board.

I used Lo Rider Stainless on the RA that I had and they sounded killer. To my ear, they are quite similar to the Sadowsky Blue Label stainless.... relatively stiff tension, and lots of upper mid grind versus the low mid growl of the Lo Rider Nickels (which fit my LG much better... but again, as you mention, my LG is more typical of that spec versus yours, which has a bit more aggression to it), and the Lo Riders move that treble sizzle of the Hi Beams down to the grind upper mid/lower treble area, which works a bit better with a RW board than the 'scoop' of the Hi Beams.

The Lo Rider Steels also helped the kind of tame that 'scoop and upper treble click' that my RA had... made it more growly and grindy all at the same time... nice! My RA with Lo Rider Steels sounded a bit closer to my LM with Hi Beams.

I bet that sounds killer from what I remember about your particular LG!

Your LM is looking MASSIVELY KILLER:hyper:

Totally different thought....

Just looked on Jimmy's site at the Resurrection 4 (dreaming how it might work as a 5)..

In any case I just noticed how the bridge pickup is slightly angled, I had not noticed that in the NAMM pics or anyone mentioning it. Is there any back story on why he did that?

I have his ss rounds on my lg5, and like them a lot.
nice medium tension, great full sound, sweet top end.

ti's as a general rule are too floppy for my preferences.

I should've ordered some of Jimmy's Nickels... I may yet. I did get some of his SS's tho... the ones I have on my bass right now are a set of his SS's and they've lasted a stunning amount of time.

I believe he mentioned it was a slip of his hand when he was making the bass.. :)

I just confirmed my 3rd and possible FINAL AC. :help: :hyper:

LM5 Deluxe (rosewood) with a tobacco burst like Miko's LG5.
I am getting a black guard and possibly a clear one too if the figuring is worth showing. It will be dots and binding.

Now I join in with you brothers on this journey of the "wait". :crying:
Just thought Id share it with you guys!
Im very excited bout this bass. I have HIGH HIGH hopes for it.
