hey guys, I've been trying to get in touch with Patrick at AC but he hasn't gotten back to me yet....I'm attempting to swap my old AC 2 band pre (4 knob version-no tone knob) into my new PJ5 I'm building and I want to add the passive tone knob....does anyone know how to wire that and/or what kind of pots/wire I need? (Yohan? Kirk? Anybody? haha)

dont know if its done any different, but youd generally wire the pickups with the tone knob (standard 250k) just like you would a passive bass, then the output off of the tone knob into the preamp.

Hey Mitch,
Sorry Bro but I haven't graduated to electronics yet so I'm uncomfortable "officially" answering your question. As usual, Kirk would be better to handle this.

With that said, what Joe posted makes sense to me.

Try sending an email to Jimmy...

That is a thin plastic piece used to protect the frets during shipping, it slips right in between the strings and frets.

No phantom fretless there... Though I like to put it on random basses at the shop to get a quick fretless look mockup.

haha no prob....thanks for the honesty Yohan....I'll wait for either Kirk or Patrick to respond but what Joe said def makes sense to me! I figured Jimmy would be too busy to answer but I'll email him if I can't get an answer....

Sorry. i was out of town and just got home ..
You only need a 250k ohm POT and a .05 mfd cap and hook up wire..
In short, if the harness is still wired the way it was with teh VOL. VOL TREB ..BASS.. The tone pot is wired like any other tone pot but now instead of the Preamp out going to the output jack the tone pot is put between the preamp out and the output jack.
I can try to draw it out for you later tomorrow if i get time.. have to fly out tomorrow afternoon wont be back till next week and im rushing around right now..

Thanks very much..mysteries do unfold. :eyebrow:

Never heard of that before ?

Still looks odd in the photo and I don't think I would have used that shot of such a beautiful instrument.

Sure would be real nice to see her in full regalia, ya know ? :crying:
