Makes sense I guess. Never really played a 6 with a C string that sounded really fat to me, so I more view it as an extended range instrument for chording and soloing in the upper registers.

Even if you are using it for chording and soloing, having that sixth string allows you to do that and hit higher notes without having to move your hand way up to the upper register.

The C string an the Atelier Z's were very well balanced with the D and G string. And knowing how fat as Jimmy's D and G strings are, if anyone can build a bass with a fat C string he can!

My own preference would be a 21 fret 6string in classic P proportions but bigger, which is an idea Jimmy is already building in the 5's. Just 1 split 3x3 pickup, volume and tone. In other words, a KBP6. I agree with Anthony Jackson's original concept of the 6 being an ensemble instrument, not necessarily intended for jazz soloing (although his bass has 28 frets as I recall). I think the fatness of tone is definitely better with the fewer frets. So let's see what JC hath brought!!

Regarding the "appeal" of the 6 string AC, it was sold before it was made, so I guess that's not really a problem.
