hmm, what did it look like? a couple years ago he had a mutt he put together for a friend that he said he had done years ago. a schecter neck with a fender headstock and his logo, mounted on a fender body. he said it had his old circuit in it that he didnt make anymore.

Very likely the same one. I recall it being an off white or blonde finish with either a black or TS pickguard with a maple neck/board. The 3 knobs were roundish and had these little swirly things around them too....did you play it? The pre sounded amazing and at the time I was paying Jimmy to put his pre in my Fender jazz and asked him if he would do the old design for me and he just said he doesn't do it anymore :crying:

Mitch and Joe,
The bass you're discussing is still at the shop and like Joe I've never played it cause it's not my thing... But I think I'll have to try it now!

No way! It's still there!? Dude, you HAVE to play it and try to convince Jimmy to offer that pre again :D....it sounded amazing and is a great option to have for the KBP! If it's not too expensive I would even consider copping it! Is it still for sale?

Slapped some TI jazz flats on my KBP5 -- wow, sounds great. I never really liked TI's on the other basses I have tried them on, so I am glad I took the chance (high $$ gamble)!

haha TIs are NEVER a gamble! I've got them on every bass I own! :D but the KBP5 seems to have been made for them....

I asked Jimmy to install the TI flats for me - one of the best decisions I have made. I am going to pull them off my 55-94 for a change, though.
