My LM5 Deluxe has headstock truss rod access, but I haven't had to adjust the neck yet so I'm not sure on the size. I'm also not sure if it's the same as the 1600's (my neck is one piece maple so he may have had a different setup), but I'll check the size when I get home tonight with my allen wrench kit.

The access to my 2011 LM is at the top also and although I dont know the exact size, the allen wrench for adjusting my FBass BN5 works the truss on the bass. If its the same should be no problem finding the wrench then.

thanks Chef! I've actually been having some problems with it....the head keeps cutting out to my cabs if I play just a little too hard but the signal is still being sent to the house....it only cuts out for about 2 seconds and then comes back on but it's SUPER annoying and I don't know what it is....and I'm rocking the gain at 1 o'clock and the master at 3 o'clock so I don't think I'm peaking it out....:(

Hello. My guess is, it is a combination of a number of things.

1) The EA cabs with that complicated 'tuba' porting have unusual impedance curves. That porting/cab design can drop the impedance way down in the lower frequency range, basically resulting in the nominal impedance being lower than the 8ohm or 4ohm spec. This, in and of itself, can push the amp a bit more than more typically voiced/designed cabs

2) The iAmps protection circuitry has been known to be set a little too aggressively in some units. That is easy to fix, and say what you want about the EA stuff, their service and support is great.

3) If you combine the above two issues with a tone that is pretty bass heavy (i.e., pumping the low end a bit or engaging the deep switch), then you get a sort of multiplier effect on those issues.

So, the good news is, IMO, the issue is most likely an easy fix of the protection circuitry setting. The bad news is, you would have to send your amp to Gary. Knowing those guys, they might overnight you a loaner. I'd call them.

:D The LM ain't goin' anywhere! I may be buried with that one!

I've been gigging the LM with my new little AE210 (the new vertical design) and the F500, and wow, what a great little rig for smaller gigs. Grindy and punchy and loud. It will compress if you really dig in or slap at higher volumes, but it sounds great up to that point.

That's interesting. I had the same issue when I took out a EA 500 head. It didn't happen on the low end, it happened on the high end. If the amp didn't like how I was snapping the G string, it would shut down for about 3 or 4 seconds. Didn't effect the DI which I had going out pre eq. Must be some limiting issue in the EA heads.

That's the head compressing, not the box. The AE210 sounds great with most amps I've used with it. The LMII seems to be a good match as well as the Genz 9.0. The whole thing seems to be a very good match with the Coppolo Jazz basses.

At the last NAMM show I was blown away by Jimmy's basses, but especially the Jazz 5's. He just might have the best colors in the business.

Thanks--if you could find out the size, it would be great. This was one of the first (if not the first) Limited 1600, so things may have changed. Jimmy couldn't quite recall what he used, but thinks it was an 1/8 inch Allen. I tried an 1/8 inch Allen and couldn't get it to work. Tried all the others I have as well; may need a longer set possibly.

Figured I would share some photos of my Alleva LG5 Oly White at a gig in Morzine, France this week... This bass killed it!... It cuts through a heavy guitar mix very well. yet for the ballads it lays down fatness.

:Dyes.. its the old saying.... big hands big feet mean...... big shoes ,big gloves,,,, lol
but the SL900 drove that backline rental cab very well... I dont need much stage volume even on those large stages because the monitors are just so good.. And i Use IEMs 99% of the time anyway.. But it does look funny...,,
