Used my Surf Green LG5 last night at a long wedding gig. It absolutely killed. While the finger style tone is, of course, amazing, I was blown away by how good the slap tone could be. What a joy that bass is.

I'm bringing the my CAOJ LG out this Friday for her first gig (with me.) Can't wait.

Say what you want about slap kinda' being the 70's spec forte, the slap tone on my LG is to die for.

I'm confused about the 1 piece body thing....I just assumed all Jimmy's bodies were 1 piece's carved out of a big block of alder or ash....is that not the deal?

Most are two piece.. and some 3 piece as in the 70s Fender IIRC... but all of mine are 2 piece with a center seam

Mitch, I would tend to think both of yours are 2 piece... I dont know if 3 piece ever made it out to the real world... I will have to ask Jimmy.. RE your RA.. I almost took that bass last year.. It is KILLER... Somewhere I have a photo of me playing it .... Beauty of a bass!

Yeah they are both 2 piece... Kirk- the first bass ( the studio style shot) is actually vashon's... Lee's is the one hanging on the wall... It's incredible! Well, both are!

hey mitch, here´s your ´69 p-bass along with my AC LG5 with Nordstrand pups in 70´s wind, used it in the studio yesterday, its the best p-bass i ever played and my alleva LG5 also sounds great , hope all is well with you/P.
