Great bass! Is there a chance you would post more pics and a few soundclip of it? I've been thinking.......no, obsessing about a bass like this one.
Question: How is the accessibilty high up on the neck? It looks more generous than my LG5.

I spoke to Jimmy last night and am locking in an order on an LM5 Deluxe. :hyper:

Any thoughts on cool color combos? I'm usually a sunburst kind of guy but I'm uisng a Maple neck that's already done -- with white blocks. I'm not sure that I love white blocks/binding with sunburst so I'm considering other colors.

I'm going one piece on the body, so I probably should stick with a trans color.

Any input is appreciated!

Congrats! If you're looking to go with a period correct look, here's my 3TS LM5 Deluxe with pearl blocks/binding:

You could also go with a natural body for a period correct look (the Marcus Miller look)...that would look cool with the one piece body.

If you're looking for something more modern in a trans finish, here's a mockup that thndrstk6 did for me of trans blue on an LM5 Deluxe (I was originally going with this before I changed to 3TS):

I originally ordered mine with a tort pick guard but he didn't have it in stock when he finished my bass. But I ended up loving the black when it was delivered (although black guards show smudges from slapping easily.) I keep forgetting to call him and order a tort guard as a second option.

Awesome! What made you go with the black PG as opposed to Tort?

I think I will go 3TS and vacillate a bit on the pick guard.

White BLOCKS, or white binding and pearl blocks? Just making sure... never heard of white blocks before.

Otherwise, I'd definitely suggest something lighter, like a light blue, green, red, or even orange, but not a natural or vintage tint... probably too pale.

Great news Joel you won't be disappointed. As you know my lm has blocks and binding. I looked at every vintage fender I could find online. Both guitars and basses with a maple board and then those with blocks and binding.

3 ts with a black guard is nice as is natural. One of the most fun times I had in the build process was choosing a color. I think if I did it again I'd go trans rootbeer.
