Finally my LM arrived an it's the bomb fellas best one so far...sounds almost identical to my beloved 77 Jazz with all the mojo plus a punchy and focused b string.

Looks great! Sent you a pm but the TB iPhone app is wonky. Let me know if you didn't get and I will resend.

Thank you, 7755, I like your KBP5 too. My KBP4 sports that same look.
Having had an American Fender P5 for a few years prior to this and playing it on many gigs I concur they are really good, completely serviceable and enjoyable in a professional situation, but they are not on the level of a KBP5. Not at all.

The Ava Maria is so close to the Poudah bass in tone .. it really comfy to switch from one to another.We have a week of these gigs coming..
I put chromes on the 4 string and XL170 custom set with a Tapered B from Daddario on the 5.. which i have not put on the bass yet...
Keb Mo's guy had a music man which sounded real nice...

But the Ava Maria gets the Gawk factor.. hahah mission accomplished!

Agreed, and with those heads, you definitely have a lot of eq options (and it's ALWAYS about playing with dynamics)!

The Ava is cool, I forgot the back of the neck was painted too.
It's been a few years since I've seen Keb Mo, I really dig his take on the blues, so smooth and some surprise changes.

yeah... On these stages i am blessed to be able to get far away from my rig if i want. So i actually get up in the line of fire from the side fills and stay there all night hanging 10 off the end of the stage..
Thats what i use the MXR for.. a buffer for long cable runs since i hate wireless..
.. The side fills are taking the feed off of my DI out..Sometimes a mic, but not on this run....
I have become friends with the monitor guys and they are just real cool about dialing in a great tone for me even if we are not the headliner... great crew!!!!

When you play back by the bridge... as i do with at times for articulation and phrased parts,the KBP5 will get almost a jaco type mid bark..
This bass is "super light alder" that the notes just pop out of . You would be surprised at the amount of natural mids a P bass can push..and with a throatiness that is warm yet tight.. not flubby like most people think a p bass sound like.... and they have waaaaaay More natural mids than a J bass , , where to me the J has a mid scoop sound when both pups are dimed out.

Im looking forward to throwing the tapered Dadarrio Low B on this baby later today....

Yeah.. I was not familiar with Keb Mo until i saw him on Live From Daryls House.. real cool stuff... And a great new twist.... I need to download his album now... some great grooves to practice!!!
Simple but so in the pocket its crazy hard to make it happen.. Just a tad on the back side.. if the drummer is not happening forget trying to make that style sound authentic...!

I played about a thousand gigs (literally.... years of 6 night a week gigs) with Keb's drummer (until recently) Lavelle Bell. Amazing groove player.

The most recent Keb CD (The Reflection.... thanks to TBer Ric Vice for turning me onto this one, I kind of lost track of what Keb was doing lately) is simply stunning, with Marcus Miller, Victor Wooten, Ready Freddie Washington, Kevin McCormick, Andrew Gouche', Vail Johnson, etc., etc. It is probably the best collection of great bassists playing great grooves on one CD that I've ever heard. Amazing sections on those cuts
