What Fodera did you end up with?

I'm also surprised you made the move as the AC's are such different animals -- and you sounded great on every clip I've ever heard of you on your AC's. Foderas are great too. I still have mine -- though I dig my AC's much more for where I'm at personally right now. My Foderas aren't going anywhere though.

Joel, I got an Olive top Imperial 5 Elite. Ash body, flamed maple tone block, 3-piece maple neck, birdseye maple board with Duncans and an ebony ramp.

I totally get you on the ACs tone wise. The Fodera can never sound like that. But playability wise, the ACs can't hold a candle to the Imperial and that's kind of more important to me. It's just effortless to play and so even across the board it's almost like a piano it's crazy. Obviously none of these basses could ever make me sound BAD, I just find I can get a close enough thumpy tone to what I love about the ACs and then I have that famous Fodera clarity in the highs and mids that cuts through the mix beautifully....I don't know, it's a tough call, but I could absolutely see myself only playing Foderas from now on for sure. Now i just need $! haha

I also play in bands that only do original music so it's not like I need a classic Fender-esque tone to sound authentic doing covers, I just always preferred the tone personally. But if it was a requirement for a gig then I'm sure I would see things in a whole different way.

Makes total sense man. I'm sure that bass smokes -- Enjoy it!

thanks man. Believe it or not, when you mentioned you were looking for a 34" scale Imperial to trade for your 33" MG I was totally into it, but I looked into how much getting a ramp from them would be and I literally can't afford it! Crazy!

(sorry to go into Fodera world for a moment guys)

Hey AC guys. I wanted to give you all a heads up. I've decided to sell my 5 month old KILLER gold LG5 classic (nitro finish, pictured in my avatar). It truly is all you would expect from an LG & more, but it's not getting the playing time it deserves and, alas, I just got the bill for my son's braces so that kind of helped me make the decision . Pictures & details will go in the classifieds later today. PM me if you're interested. Thanks!

Congratulations on the new Resurrection 5!! Looks great!!

There are Fodera threads for discussing how great one thinks they are. I had two different Monarchs in my time and can't imagine why anyone would give up their A/Cs for a Fodera. With all due respect and to each his/her own.

I didn't play the Hippie KBP5 today at church. I thought the LG would fit the selections better. Man!!!!! My previous church didn't use in-house monitoring for our service. (we shared service with another church) The church I'm at now, to me is like playing at Joel Osteen's church. LOL YES, I'm over exaggerating! They use in-house monitoring and the LG sounded GREAT! The minister of music complimented on the sound with a lil help from the TH500 DI. I felt like a rockstar! LOL I wish they recorded the P&W, but they only record the Pastor's sermon. Oh well, next time I'll take the zoom recorder

Hey guys I got to go see Snarky puppy play last night with Jimmy and Sebnem. Mike League is actually an old friend of Jimmy's from back in New York. Jimmy brought Mike a brand-new gold LM5, but Mike used to have an LM5 from 2008 That was stolen and now Jimmy wants to track down what happened to it. The serial is B50106. If you know any information on where it is, Jimmy is offering a no questions asked policy for its return and may help replace it. Contact him at the shop [email protected]
