Awesome! You must be really excited. Mines getting close too. I spoke to Jimmy yesterday about it and some other stuff. I'm thinking of getting a KBP order in at some point also.

It amazes me how much he knows about vintage Fenders and what makes them sound as good as they do. I'm convinced that no one else does a vintage sounding 5 string as well as Jimmy does.

I just picked up an Ash/Maple Nordy Classic vJ5 to hold me over temporarily until my LM is done. That is actually a really cool bass also. But I'm really psyched for my LM!

That it’s a keeper :)

If you look at my profile and see the instruments I play – its easily the fattest & warmest sounding instrument I own :)
The build quality is right there with my Sadowsky’s. The tone is very similar to my light weight Alder/Rosewood Fender Jazz (actually they both weight almost exactly the same weight 8.9 lbs). When both played in passive, I hear the pickups & fretboard differing the two – and it’s pretty substantial while still staying in the Alder/Rosewood J family of tone.

My Fender has a bit of a brighter colored Rosewood board which I believe is Madagascar Rosewood? The LG4 is East Indian Rosewood – its color is much much darker. The tone is much warmer and doesn’t have that upper mid punch my Fender has. That, combined with Jimmy’s pickups which seem to be wound for a thick bottom and sweet top and a less aggressive midrange (the Lindy Fralins are a bit more mid-aggressive) - I have one super fat, warm J which I love.

It’s just great :)

Nice. I found a short "adjustment" period going from the tones of my Sadowsky and even my fairly warm Fender 62 RI jazz to my LG4. Now, I doubt I'd go back to either (both were sold).

Yup - there was an "adjustment" of my ears as well (simply becuase I'm so used to my other instruments) - but after you "learn" the instruments tone - it really warms up to you. In this case, at very first I found the LG4 to be a bit too "tame"... but now I'm appreciating the laid back fat and thick tone. If I want the more mid punchy/aggressive tone - I have other bases that cover that :)

Same with my Aguilar db751. At first I had an "adjustment period" with it - but now I can't play any other amp. :)

Here is my 2008 BPL KBP5 also in nitro.

The company I work for is having major problems right now.
I might not have a job in a month or two. I hear big layoffs
are coming this Friday. I may have to sell the KBP5 or the Oly
White LG5 (that I haven't even gotten yet) or both. :mad::bawl:
Hoefully I can figure out a way to keep all of them.

I hope it works out for you. I hate hearing things like that -- there's a lot of that stir going around unfortunately.
