That picture of the crew really makes me want to have a bass that was made in that shop. I just know that there would be a lot of love and pride in anything that Jimmy and company would produce. To you guys out there that know him does he do any work on old vintage instruments ? My '64 Jazz could use a good re-fret and general cleaning of the electronics, etc. Thanks, Jim Oh, and by the way, very beautiful bass Andrew!!

Yes .. he has done refrets for many stars guitars.

Here is his repair page and restore

I'd just love to get my hands on a sunburst KBP5:hyper::hyper::hyper:

Cool basses, and I bet that rig sounds great also. I dig the HS210 with the Alleva... kind of 'vintage modern'... plenty of pop and punch and sizzle, but some real honest to goodness grind and growl. Nice!

I thinking about calling Jimmy today and change from
Ground to 2nd Day Air.
Dan

It should only take 2 days to get to you. I am over in the south central part of VA and it usually takes 2 days to get to me. It is a pain to wait isn't it? I bet ours will be on the same truck leaving Jimmy's shop.

:hyper:

Peace,

T

Hey Tom, Do you have any idea when they might ship?
I have an audition with a new band on Sunday.
I would love have it by the end of the week! ;)
I know the are really busy at the shop and I hate to call.
Thanks, Dan

I talked to Jimmy last week and he had run out of shipping boxes!

:help:

He was getting some in to start shipping out the basses he had and I told him to just wait until after the weekend to ship mine. I got the impression mine would probably go out today or tomorrow. I had paid for most of mine and he charged the balance due on Friday so I am hoping that means mine is ready to go today!! I can't wait to get it! I haven't been this excited and expectant about a bass in years! I am really hoping this will be the last 4 string Jazz bass I will need. I am seriously thinking of ordering a KPB5 though.....and I HAVE to get another LG5 before it is over with....Be sure and post pics when you get yours and I will do the same!

Peace,

T

Jimmy has so many amazing finishes available for his basses that it makes it very hard to pick one...

I agree Bernie! While I would not have guessed a new favorite before seeing it, Ken's LM-5 in Gold with the Mint PG and Maple board is just a magic combination in my eyes. The vibe and look of that bass WORKS amazingly well! Wow. I'll bet it looks good under stage lights too huh?

That said, the Oly White LG-5 with Tort PG and Rosewood FB is a close tie for my favorite. While I am impressed with the Candy apple Orange Juice AC's, I don't think I'd want that color personally. (But I've never seen it in person. So who knows) Bottom line is that Alleva's have grown on me so much I find myself in major GAS Pain for an LG-5.
