That's good to hear! I generally prefer more brown in rosewood than red but it darkens over time anyways.

The Dalbergia is a $1500 option if I am not mistaken...:eek:

Mike's bass has Indian Rosewood and it is one of the richest Red boards I have ever seen. It feels really good with the Satin finished neck behind it.

The Madagascar RW that I have on my Sadowsky is REALLY red. The boards on the A-C's (and the Nordy's) seem more brown, deep and dark... really look 'old'... broken in and vintage, which really goes well with the vibe of the A-C basses IMO.

The oils he treats his boards with darken them up significantly.... I was just watching an old Weather Report concert and noticing Jaco's board......almost looks like a piece of freakin' ebony.......

Sounds good to me! That goes with the vibe of the AC's nicely.

Look at this Sunburst... It's hard to say no to that!

I just spoke with Jimmy about some pickups that I wanted to put in another bass. He then mentioned that he packed up my LM5 on Friday and it very well could be waiting for me when I get home!!! I live about 2 hours from the shop, so shipping from NYC is generally next-day. I'm stuck at work right now. Gotta bust out of here somehow.....

EXACTLY!!!! This is the pic that really did it for me too! The 3TS 4 in the pic is Conrad Korsch's and is the one that inspired me to get the 4 I have on the way. I can't tell but it looks like that one has Indian rosewood. Mine has the Dalbergia which generally is more of a brownish to ebony colored wood.

That is what I was told initially as well. I don't know if it has changed or not but I would just call him and price out what you want and go for it!! He was very easy to work with when we speced mine out and he made sure to go over every detail about it with me before he gave me a quote. He really wants to make YOUR bass the way you want it.

I get the feeling that Jimmy really cares about his customers getting the right bass. It's a great thing to see. He wants everyone to be happy with his basses. He's just not turning them out to make money. A real love of his.

Absolutely! He went out his way to make sure I get what I really wanted. It makes that bass that much more special to me. I know a lot of thought, care, and a true love for the art went into the building process of making my bass as good as it can possibly be.
