Well:

An Lg-5 with BARE minimum upgrades (necessary to me anyways), a 3TS finish and passive tone control is around $3600........1/3 of that is $1200.....just to give you an idea....

This is looking closer and closer like it's going to be the bass I go with. I've always wanted a 3TS bass and this is my opportunity to get probably the best Sunburst out there.

There are just so many rave reviews, awesome photo's, paired with revered praise of quality, fit, finish and tone. This is leading me down the path of deposit! Not to mention, the Paul Turner clips just blew my mind. I really think I have to have an LG-5 (or perhaps an RA-5). I'll call Jimmy tomorrow or Wednesday to discuss options, models best suited to my needs and any other specifics.

You are correct! I remember that now that you mentioned it! It is truly awesome in person and is without question what I would get on my next LG5.

Bernie, the burst is amazing. When I saw the bursts at the shop I changed my order to that fairly early in the build...they are as good in person and very authentic:)

Base 5 string instruments are about $3,250 (basic finish, passive tone control, standard maple or RW board, poly finish).... about $650 less than a similarly spec'd Sadowsky NYC last time I did an A/B. Not cheap at all, but actually reasonably priced for the category, and especially considering the small shop 'totally handmade' vibe... including in-house wound pickups and from what I understand in-house preamps.

Ice blue metallic, matching headstock, parchment pickguard with somewhat color-matched dots - everything else stock. I don't like the look of a parchment pickguard with glaring white dots.

I tried the "Honey, I have a red one and am getting a blue one, shouldn't I get a white one also?" I got a "look" guess that was the answer! Actually, I don't need a white one but that was my other choice on color for the KPB-5.

Very nice!! Ice Blue is a beautiful color and the parchment guard is perfect with it.
