I probably would have gone without a pickguard altogether... however, I didn't have a choice, so I'm more than likely going to stick with clear for at least a little while, and maybe throw the black guard on there... maybe do dark tort at some point as well.

Black with a rosewood board has always kind of bothered me, but with the really dark rosewood, black headstock and black-burst on the back of the neck, it does look really, cool.

Well, well, well, Chris, look at you all posh over here talking about your new treasure and you haven't mentioned anything "over there."

I was going to wait until I had it in my hands for the big announcement.

I shortly had an LG5 about 3 years ago, but the one I tried was insanely heavy...

This bass weighs in at 8.6 lbs!!!

And it's an unchambered body!

I am sooooooo pumped.

I normally love tort on natural bodies, but with the spalted alder I don't care for either the dark or the red all that much. In fact, I think I like them in the exact order shown on your mockup - clear, black, dark tort, red tort, parchment and then mint.

Nice to see those mockups. Yeah, black all the way. Really makes that body wood figuring pop, and doesn't have that 'plastic slip cover over the good furniture' thing that those clear pickguards always seem to vibe to me.

The dark tort (that kind of hides the patterning) looks better than I though. White or mint.... no way!

I did a fast and dirty mockup of your bass in a dark tortoise shell pickguard... I couldn't help but think that it would look awesome because the grain in the body of your bass is nice and mellow and there's a beautiful deep red color in your fingerboard...

Nice mockup work with my bass. It´s not really the color I´m going for, I´m going to have a PG made for me that looks like one of these regarding color and more like a telecaster shape, see pic.
By the way, the fretboard is jimmy wood.
