Club Alleva-Coppolo (Part 21)

Sometimes a bass Jimmy is making for someone or a dealer gets redirected because of a number of reasons, or the previous owner had wrong info, or something else happened. Either way ask Jimmy if he knows anything about it as often he does.

Ahh sorry haven't gone there in a long time. For something like you are asking the only other thing I can think of is trying to message him on Facebook...or messenger.

A picture of my AC just because.

can anyone tell me what CNL rosewood ACTUALLY is? I know Jimmy gave it a name, but sure it has a scientific name like all other rosewoods?

CNL - as far as I know - is a blend of Dalbergia Nigra (Brazilian Rosewood) and Dalbergia Spruceana (Jacaranda do Para, aka Amazon Rosewood). It seems that it has not yet been specified as a separate Species.

Amazon and Brazilian are both coming from Brazil and are two of the most expensive woods. As you know, Brazilian is banned by CITES Part I, Amazon NOT. That makes it difficult to say whether CNL could be covered by CITES Part 1 too - or probably not.

Nice!!!

I am considering pulling the trigger as well, but:
I am a bit worried I might not be able to get a ridiculously low action with that radius (yeah.. sorry that question again but it's very important for me, and if I could play with the strings against the frets I would haha).

Am I right?

I like a very low action and I can achieve that on both of my AC's. Ridiculously low? Possibly.
